Chapter 119 - Gigantic Creature

It was as if a moment of clarity struck Yu Xuanji and he suddenly became lucid of the fact, “So the others Qi Pract.i.tioner knew nothing about this? Are they that r.e.t.a.r.ded?”

Shua shua shua————

Countless ferocious glares were directed towards them and along with Hu Qimei, Zhong Yue quickly distanced himself with Yu Xuanji to prevent from being implicated in the indignation of the crowd.

“Please look carefully, it was Yu Xuanji from the Qing Long Keep who said you guys were r.e.t.a.r.ded, this has nothing to do with us!” said the laughing Hu Qimei.

Zhong Yue quickly nodded in corroboration of what Hu Qimei said.

Yu Xuanji gave himself two slaps in frustration. Fortunately for him, everyone was busy in cogitating upon the elusive and remarkable aspects of the 【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】, thus, no one looked to provoke them.

“King Teng, you have pa.s.sed the test!”

A seneschal looked at the man standing on the river and said.

King Teng.

Zhong Yue looked at the young man and he saw a very unique and pure aura from the extraordinary King Teng, standing out like a bright light among the numerous monsters.

Not long later, Yu Xuanji jumped out and visualized the carvings on the stone wall, successfully visualizing the Monster G.o.d Ming King after King Teng. His innate talent really did live up to his name of Xuanji.

Zhong Yue observed for a moment and found out that at most, only three or four of them managed to understand this point before Yu Xuanji. However, the few Qi Pract.i.tioners were not as good as Yu Xuanji as they were here a few days earlier.

As time pa.s.sed, about seven or eight Qi Pract.i.tioner had succeeded in visualizing out the Monster G.o.d Ming King. Zhong Yue observed closely and saw that these monster Qi Pract.i.tioners sought to ameliorate the inherent flaw by visualizing the eagle eyes and monster eyes while the more talented ones opted for the spiritual eye. There was even one who visualized the divine eye, thereby increasing their strength by another tier!

As for the Qi Pract.i.tioner who managed to visualized the divine eyes, he must have received incredible benefits as he had received some sort of a mysterious heritage.

I should be able to pa.s.s if I replaced my Sui Sovereign’s divine eye with the Sun eye!

Zhong Yue instantly walked down to the stage and visualized the Monster G.o.d Ming King as he jettisoned using the Sui Sovereign divine eye in favor of the golden eyes of the Great Sun. With that, he was able to easily pa.s.s the test despite the eye of Great Sun being weaker than the divine eye of the Sui Sovereign. Although the eye of Great Sun was weaker, it was more than enough for this current situation. Hu Qimei also pa.s.sed the test not long after Zhong Yue.

After another four to five days, more and more monster Qi Pract.i.tioner managed to visualize the Monster G.o.d Ming King. The young and competent ones like Kong Ban and the others had also pa.s.sed the test respectively.

As more and more of them pa.s.sed the test, the carvings on the stone walls started to fade. The first test soon came to a close with the complete disappearance of the stone wall carvings.

Originally, this picture left behind by the saint lord of the Xian Kong City was to examine the talent of the monster Qi Pract.i.tioners, allowing at most about ten plus Qi Pract.i.tioners to pa.s.s this test. However, as a result of the pointer that Yu Xuanji inadvertently let slip, the amount of people who pa.s.sed the test was a few times more than intended!

The most crucial point was that the more experienced and competent cultivators of the various factions were sent to accompany the core disciples in the test. With the aid provided by the helpers, the core disciples managed to decipher the secrets of the art.

As such, there were about sixty plus Qi Pract.i.tioners who pa.s.sed the test; the situation had now truly careened out of the Saint City Lord’s expectation!

The seneschal of Saint City Lord threw an ambivalent look at Yu Xuanji and said, “Everyone, please follow me.”

Yu Xuanji was stunned and blabbered, “Why did he look at me? Did you see their faces? Why are you showing the same angry expression as them? Are there still rules? My words provided so much help to them and they only managed to pa.s.s the first test because of me! Instead of thanking me, they get mad at me and they want to kill me! There, look at that! Say something, Brother Long Yue!”

Zhong Yue said in feigned shock, “My friend, I a.s.sume this is the first time we’ve met right? I don’t even know you….”

Yu Xuanji looked helplessly at Hu Qimei but all he saw was a Hu Qimei whose eyes darted around in avoidance of meeting his gaze, pretending that she saw nothing.

“You two b.u.g.g.e.rs!” said the angry Yu Xuanji.

The sixty plus Qi Pract.i.tioners followed the seneschal and without them knowing, they arrived at a boat docked at the sh.o.r.e.

The seneschal bowed and said, “Please get on board.”

Everyone boarded the luxurious boat where the pillars in the boat were all carved with all sorts of totem carvings and lively beast carvings.

The Awakening level Qi Pract.i.tioners sent as protectors of the core disciples by their factions also boarded the boat which was when the seneschal shook his head and said, “When we get to the second stage, please kindly get down of the boat.”

The Awakening Qi Pract.i.tioners could not help but feel confused, but the seneschal did not bother to give any explanation.

As the boat trembled, it departed towards the city hall of the Saint City Lord, sailing straight up with the current.

The city hall was extremely big and there were even mountains and rivers in it and they pa.s.sed through countless heavily guarded gates on their path.

As they pa.s.sed through these gates, Zhong Yue could even feel an extremely strong aura emitted by the likes of the hall masters and elders in the Swords Gates among the guards garrisoned on the gates!

This place must be extraordinary for the saint city lord to have built this place into a fortress!

The boat continued to sail to its destination and it arrived at the source of the water. It was a cave located within the city hall and the current was flowing out from this cave. It was general knowledge that water had the tendency to flow downward but strangely, the water here flowed upwards contrary to its normative mode of motion. This phenomenon gave everyone an inexplicable and strange feeling!

The boat slowly sailed into the cave on the current and everyone felt the sudden change in the gravity when they got dragged into the cave. Everyone got startled and thought, The totem carvings in the cave must have changed the laws of gravity!

The water was pristine and they saw countless totem pillars standing in the water that inverted the gravity of the cave to cause the water to flow upwards.

Zhong Yue looked at the totem pillars and thought, These totem pillars look kinda new, they should have only existed for one to two hundred years and this cave does not particularly look like an ancient one as well.

He stood firmly on the boat as he measured the cave. He saw claw marks around the caves that were left behind by the Qi Pract.i.tioners when they dug open this entire cave!

Strange, from the looks of these claw marks, those who clawed open this cave must be Qi Pract.i.tioners, which means it should have been clawed open from the inner part to the outer part, all the way to the outside of the mountain.

He was a little bit shocked when he thought of this and he continued, But if the monsters want to reach this point, they would have to dig in from the outside. But the claw marks suggest that it all started from the inside. With that being said, something must have crawled out of this cave. How big could the thing be if was able to dig out such a gigantic hole….

Zhong Yue felt a little bit dizzy as he could not imagine what kind of a monster could it be.

The totem pillars in the river must have been planted down after the monsters discovered this cave to remove the water from inside it.

The boat sailed deep into the cave and judging from the sailing path, they must have entered the inner part of the black mountain. This cave was not a simple one as its insides meandered with a mult.i.tude of turns and curves.

There were also some kind of strange plants all on top of the walls and top of the cave. These plants looked like lanterns, emitting a luminescence in the cave. There were some transparent huge fish that crawled up the sh.o.r.e to feed on these lantern plants. Even after the plants were swallowed, they did not stop emitting light. Thus, Zhong Yue was able to see the luminescence of the plants even when they were in the stomach of these fish.

Still going down?

Zhong Yue’s heart thumped and he thought, We will be entering the vicinity of the Devil Soul Forbidden Land if we continued going down.

In his psyche ocean, Xin Huo excitingly calculated the extra time needed before they would reach the Devil Soul Forbidden Land.

As the boat sailed deeper and deeper, the cave became narrower, yet it was still considerably wide nonetheless. The surroundings also brightened up as the light came from above.

When Zhong Yue looked around, he saw jungles starting to appear in the cave and lava brightening up the jungles as huge trees stood high, looming over the cave. The scene was as if they were suddenly thrown into a prehistoric world!

In front of this prehistoric world, were swamps that seemed to almost completely submerge the entire cave and this was apparently the source of the water, being pumped away by the totem pillars, preventing the cave from flooding.

At the other side of the cave, there was a cave palace, hanging on the stone walls and there was an old monster who sat at the front of the palace. As the boat sailed close, his eyesight brushed through the faces of all the Qi Pract.i.tioners on the boat like an eagle.

The old monster’s eagle-sharp gaze was as if there were countless needles poised towards their throats!

This was due to the old monster’s unfathomable strength as it was evident that he had been standing sentry at his post for a very long time.

“This is the second and final stage.”

The boat stopped and the seneschal said, “After the water swamps would be the secret realm of the Black Mountain. The secret realm was where the Monster G.o.d Ming King once stayed. This is also the place where the city lord obtained the 【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】. If you can get your hands on the completed 【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】, then you will be the final disciple of the city Lord!”

“A complete 【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】?”

On the boat, the Qi Pract.i.tioners erupted in an uproar upon hearing what the seneschal said.

The 【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】 was the art cultivated by the Saint City lord and it belonged to the pantheon of ultimate arts in this world. They never would’ve fathomed that its roots were in a place like this!

This meant that those who entered the secret realm will have a chance to get their hands on the  【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】, which would give them the chance to rise to the top of the world!

Therefore, as long as they were able to obtain the  【Monster G.o.d Ming King Art】, it wouldn’t even matter if they failed to become the the final disciple of the saint city lord as they would be able to become a paragon of the world regardless!

“So this is the secret realm of the Black Mountain!”

Yu Xuanji whispered to Zhong Yue and Hu Qimei, “I heard about this, they said that a humongous creature once crawled out from the Black Mountain and this incident shook the entire Eastern Barren. The reason why the former saint city lord died was because he fought with this creature whereupon he was inflicted heavy injuries in the confrontation that ultimately cost him his life. The creature then disappeared and n.o.body has ever heard of this creature ever since.”

Hu Qimei nodded and said, “I heard about this from the elders in my clan as well. It was said that many of the experts of the monsters died when they entered this secret realm. As such, our Eastern Barren almost got devoured by the celestial race. Then, a little Qi Pract.i.tioner walked out alive from the secret realm and with a few decades, he rose up as one of the strongest Qi Pract.i.tioners in the Eastern Barren, much to its shock ! This little Qi Pract.i.tioner is now the city lord of the saint city! From then on, this secret realm became a prohibited area to any Qi Pract.i.tioners.
