The government must have realised something was going on by now, but as long as they did not publicise the news of the end of the world and interfere with the government's Noah's Ark plan, the government would not come and investigate them at the risk of social unrest.

Four hours later, Dr. Octopus called for a meeting. Sheyan noticed that the people he had gathered included the vampires and the mutants. In short, none of them were ordinary people; all of them were powerful. Dr. Octopus raised a list in his hand and went straight to the point.

"I now have a terrifying amount of funds in my hands, an amount the likes of which the world has never seen. However, there are many things in this world that money can't buy. So, I need you to go out and help me acquire the materials on this list."

All of them could hear the meaning behind Dr. Octopus' words, because everyone here knew what method Dr. Octopus would usually employ to get the materials he needed but could not buy.

The vampires held no reservations about such actions. They bared their fangs and grinned at each other. It was worth mentioning that the Cullen family was not actually the most powerful among the vampire clans. That distinction went to the Brujah clan from Europe, who sensed that something was amiss and had rushed over. The leader of this clan, who also held the t.i.tle of the Prince of London, had a name which resounded far and wide -- Dracula!

Professor X could not help but frown.

"Will our plan fail without these materials?"

Dr. Octopus glared at Professor X with bloodshot eyes and said, "If we can a.s.semble these materials, the chances of us surviving the apocalypse will increase by at least 45%."

A Vampire Count suddenly remarked in a hoa.r.s.e voice, "I'm willing to do it even if it only increases the chances of my survival by 1%. Life is simply too boring right now. I'll take this opportunity to stretch for a bit."

Magneto said impatiently, "Quit wasting time. Just give us the list."

The majority had made their voices heard, so Professor X kept quiet. Sheyan knocked on the table to gain their attention.

"Try your best to keep a low profile and keep trouble to a minimum. The government is already paying attention to us. Purchase the materials with money if you can, and if you can't, try not to kill anyone."

Dr. Octopus showed them the list. When Sheyan laid eyes upon the list, he suddenly received a series of notifications:

Sheyan frowned after seeing these notifications. He then looked around at the conference room that was as chaotic and noisy as a wet market. He abruptly stood up and said, "If you guys really think this is an easy job, I'm afraid less than half of you will return alive."

Sheyan's words carried great weight in this group. The others were surprised to hear what he said.

Sheyan continued, "No one's an idiot. Although the news of the end of the world has not spread among the ordinary people, there are definitely rumours flying around among the high-level elites. And among them, there were definitely some who could not get on the Arks. No one wants to die, which means that everyone will try their hardest to survive.... We're building airs.h.i.+ps, so who's to say that there weren't others who are building submarines?"

At this point, Sheyan looked at Dr. Octopus whose face had become grave.

"If there are people who are trying to build other vehicles to survive the end of the world, will the materials you need conflict with theirs, doctor?"

I recall that a year ago, the prices of these rare metals were less than a tenth of what they are now. Why have they increased so much? Obviously, it's because there are some people who are also buying and h.o.a.rding them!!! So you're right. There was also another really amazing Vampire Duke who could turn into a b.l.o.o.d.y mist. This was a common trick among vampires, but a b.l.o.o.d.y mist which covered two square kilometers was unheard of. Anyone who stepped into the b.l.o.o.d.y mist would be stepping into a powerful domain skill. To make it worse, they would not even be able to find the vampire's real body!

Another defensive star was the famous Storm, who needed a long time to gather her power. If she went to attack instead, she might be shot down before she could even rise to the sky.

The slow-moving Colossus, The Great Illusionist Stryker, and Sabertooth with his sensitive hearing, smell and vision also remained to defend the base.

Besides that, Magneto's underlings, Quill and Callisto were also selected by Professor X as members of the Defence Force. Professor X was also very interested in Alice Cullen, who had the ability to foresee the future.

These people who remained behind, together with the powerful weapons made by Dr. Octopus and the other scientists, basically covered the entire base. If the situation developed into a direct confrontation which they had to settle with brute force, they could attack with Magneto at the core. Jean, whose mind-probing ability was second only to Professor X, would act as support. The vanguard would be formed by the immortal creatures Wolverine and Lady Deathstrike, as well as the ancient monster Juggernaut. Cyclops would provide long range support from behind. When the enemy formation collapsed, the waiting vampires would flock forward and attack like a storm!

Even if the 2012 apocalypse is real, can you really save us? Even the government, with their resources and wealth, can only build four Noah's Arks. How can you claim to be able to do what they did?
