Crazy Detective Chapter 1107 - Scream in the Cave

It was raining heavily and now completely dark.

Zhao Yu and Cui Lizhu didn’t have raincoats with them. They followed Li Jing and the others to the suspects’ truck in the pouring rain. There was a piece of canvas on the back of the truck. The machines that had originally been transported under the canvas had been moved to the cave by the two people.

The cave was high up the cliff. It was about ten meters from the ground. A rope ladder hung down from the cave that led inside of the cave.

Li Jing was very cautious. She did not speak and only gestured to her people. The agents acted as soon as they received her orders.

Among them was the agent who was responsible for monitoring Zhao Yu. He opened the door of the pickup truck with a special tool and went into the car to search.

Another agent, after testing the strength of the rope ladder, immediately climbed up to the cave. He was strong and reached the top in just a few seconds.

The agent told Li Jin that the cave was safe, so she climbed the rope ladder and entered the cave as well. Li Jing looked weak, but she was in fact very strong and lively. After all, she was the leader of the Secret Service. She easily climbed up to the cave.

After Li Jing went up, there was only one Secret Service agent left at the base of the cliff along with Zhao Yu and Cui Lizhu. This agent was not just anyone. It was Xiao Hang, who had fought with Zhao Yu in the past.

Because of the fight, Xiao Hang and Zhao Yu had not talked to each other since their initial meeting. Seeing that Li Jing had entered the cave, Xiao Hang nodded at Zhao Yu. With his nod he was asking Zhao Yu if he wanted to go up or not.

Of course, Zhao Yu would not miss such a valuable opportunity. Without hesitation, Zhao Yu and Cui Lizhu climbed up the cliff and entered the cave.

After entering the cave, Zhao Yu saw that Li Jing and an agent were adjusting their tools. In order to not attract the attention of the two men who had entered the cave before them, they did not turn on any devices with lights. They put on night vision goggles that they had prepared in advance.

“Keep up with us,” Li Jing whispered. “You know the rules. We are responsible for all fieldwork. I hope you can cooperate well and not make any noise.”

Li Jing was very cold when she spoke to Zhao Yu. He would have been furious with her att.i.tude in the past. However, at this critical time, Zhao Yu didn’t want to argue with her, so he took out the night vision goggles and began to put them on.

However, he and Cui Lizhu had only one pair of night vision goggles. He hesitated.

While Zhao Yu was putting on the night vision goggles, Xiao Hang had already climbed up to the cave. After that, Li Jing gave her men separate orders. She then took out her gun and went into the cave.

Zhao Yu also had his gun with him. In case there was an emergency, he also took out his gun and followed the agents into the cave with Cui Lizhu.

This was a naturally formed cave. Some places in the cave were wide while others were quite narrow.

After walking a few steps, Zhao Yu became confused. He remembered that the two people had carried a lot of heavy machines and tools in from the pickup truck. How did they transport everything deep into the cave in such a short time?

The agents were surprised. At that moment, there was no lighting in the cave. They didn’t understand how Cui Lizhu saw things clearly without night vision goggles. And, Xiao Hang hadn’t found anything in the front. How did she know that the right fork was the correct path?

The agents were curious, but Zhao Yu believed her. He knew what Cui Lizhu was capable of. As the daughter of the thief king, she had been trained strictly. Her eyesight and hearing were much better than normal people. Otherwise, she would have been caught by the police easily.

After going deeper into the cave down the right fork, several more splits appeared in the path. However, after arriving there, there was no need for Cui Lizhu to explain her reasoning to them anymore. Zhao Yu and others were convinced that they were going in the right direction because they could hear the rumble of machines and see a weak light.

Because he couldn’t see the light clearly with the night vision goggles, Zhao Yu took them off and went for the target first. A group of agents followed him with extreme caution.

The roar of the machines was so fierce that when they got close, the ground was shaking violently. It was obvious that someone was digging in the mountain with a gravel machine.

After that, they heard a ma.s.sive sound, then suddenly it got quiet again. The agents looked at each other. After receiving Li Jing’s approval, Xiao Hang ran toward the weak light. So did Zhao Yu. Ten seconds later, they arrived at their target. When they saw what was in front of them, they were shocked.

A hole that was nearly three-square meters had been dug in the ground of the cave. All the stones removed from the hole were piled up on the other side of the cave, almost blocking the path.

There were many broken and abandoned tools scattered around the hole along with some sleeping bags, cooking utensils, and food. They also saw a four-wheel cart with a brand-new drill on it. Obviously, the two brothers used the cart to bring the tools into the cave.

They quickly walked over to the hole and looked down carefully. It was more than three meters deep. The most amazing thing was that besides there being just rocks and stones, there was concrete at the bottom of the hole. In the dim light, people could see that there was a hole in the concrete. It looked like someone had used a stone crusher to dig it and part of the concrete had collapsed.

Zhao Yu looked into the hole and saw that there was a secret pa.s.sageway under it.
