Tempest of the Stellar War Chapter 838 - Bursting Confidence

After more than a week of preparation, the Greatest King compet.i.tion was finally starting. In this time, many rules had been decreed, and every compet.i.tor’s individual trailer had been recorded. The school had committed considerable budget to this, in order to show the best face of Elite Academy.

All kinds of promotion had been done as well. Each Battle Team had prepared well. Everybody wanted to rise to fame here. They knew that it was not just the Elite Academy people watching, but also those from their homeland. This was not a simple matter of win or lose.

Among the crowd reception for the eight Battle Teams, Aslan’s Imperial Glory Battle Team was way in the lead. Next up was Arbiter. Clearly in the eyes of the Galaxy’s main military schools, these two Battle Teams were the most kingly.

This vote was a survey by all the military schools connected by signal. Excluding those who were supporting their home Battle Teams, it basically reflected everybody’s sentiment. Although Arbiter’s standard seemed a little stronger, but the Aslan Battle Team was a bit more popular. This choice was a combination of popularity and standard.

And Saruman Snake was unexpectedly at the bottom, just like the evaluation of its ability.

In this aspect, Lear’s Dynasty Battle Team was not much better, ranked 6th. Earthlings as leaders was still a curiosity. Lear was stealing the spotlight from the Mayans. Recently, the Maya Empire had partic.i.p.ated actively in many of the Milky Way’s activities, and was becoming high profile. In technology development, it had made uncommon progress as well, displaying a civilization no less advanced than Atlantis. This had aroused the interest of many countries in the Milky Way. Everybody knew that Atlantis was cooperative with Aslan, but Maya was not. Maya had free choice, and to be able to ally to such a strong country was undoubtedly a good thing. Besides, Mayans and Atlanteans developed in different directions, and complemented well.

The foreign monk’s prayers sound more interesting, a saying that aged well.

The first match and opening battle was Dynasty Battle Team, led by Lear, against Pampas’ Star Lya Battle Team.

The prepared boundaries were much bigger compared to the last elite fight. Elite compet.i.tions was Elite Academy’s own entertainment, but this time round, every aspect of the warrior would be tested. But in terms of physical facilities, even if Elite Academy X was not the champion in the galaxy, it was still top-cla.s.s. Even after accommodating so many military colleges, there was still room to spare.

From the college side, the commentary in-charge was Professor La Tu, who would also serve as mediator. Ka Tao on the left, and another battle tactic a.n.a.lyst student, Xue Yue, was on the right. She was called the flower of the tactic a.n.a.lyst stream, and was a pa.s.sionate beauty from Astina.

Basically, La Tu was there for some umpiring utility, while Ka Tao and Xue Yue were in charge of judging from a battle tactics standpoint.

For a battle of this standard, battle tactics had to be complemented by the mecha lineups, as well as the affinity between Ability X. This was very different from normal mecha battles. This had the battle tactics students also especially excited, because they were finally being held in high regard. They finally had their skills acknowledged. Some Battle Teams had already started to recruit battle tactics students, a far cry from their silent existence in the corner in the past.

Simultaneously, all the military school students around the galaxy were engaged in heated discussion. It seemed like the Elite Academy was only so-so, and not living up to their reputation.

The Solar System was so weak, but they could also become a captain. Who knew what other trash was mixed inside?

In those places like Solar System, Big Bear, Norton, the students were a little confused. But on Arbiter, only two military schools were qualified to receive the signal, and the entire military school was dead silent. The students sat dead upright, watching the compet.i.tion. Not just the clas.h.i.+ng Battle Teams, but even the two commentators felt a different atmosphere. Because all over the galaxy, countless pairs of eyes were on them.

Ka Tao was already fully in the zone. He was all business, unlike Xue Yue who was too mindful of other things. “Lear is really gutsy, to actually not use his full strength against Pampas!”

Xue Yue was stunned. “You mean, Giroud is not fighting?”

“Exactly. The Mayans’ battle tactics are normally harder to counter. Using Lie Xin to subst.i.tute an important offensive position, all I can say is that Lie Xin is very confident. And it’s rumoured that the Mayans still have a resonance battle tactic. Looks like it won’t be used in this battle.”

The exchange between the two commentators had stirred much discussion. Dynasty Battle Team depended on the two Mayans. Honestly, everyone was puzzled. These two Mayans could have had their pick of Battle Teams, but they had expressly chosen Lear. It was a puzzle till today.

“Since when were Earthlings so awesome? Am I in another universe?”

The crowd roared with laughter.

“Why does it feel like we’re playing house? Is this Pampas too weak? Since when did such a first rate person appear from Lya Sphinx?”

“Just watch and see. Who knows what standard they’ll show us? d.a.m.n, I gave up all my holidays for this. If I’d known, I would have gone on a date with my girlfriend.”

“Who knows? Maybe they’re really pros. Haha.”

“D*mn, they really have rocks for brains. Could they actually pull anything off with the same mecha?”

Under the gaze of a huge crowd, the first round of the Elite Academy’s Greatest King compet.i.tion begun. The setting was a for that many military school practices used.

This further lowered the sense of antic.i.p.ation. They had thought that the Elite Academy people were 3-headed, 6-limbed demons, and would bring something a little special, such as rendering s.p.a.ce for mecha to fly and having a spectacular s.p.a.ce fight. To think this was it.

Yao Ailun and Chen Xiu were commentating for an audience too. They could also introduce the history of Lear and Luo Fei, and share some gossip that others did not know.

As to their real standard, n.o.body knew, Yao Ailun included. His commentary was CT, a game. Normally, practical battels were less spectacular than games. After all, humans were human, and could not pull off so spectacular a show.

The 10 mecha fighters appeared, and the engines roared out at the same time, advancing towards the center. Their formation was also fairly normal. The heavy tanks holding center, with the scouts ranging in front. There were no other tricks.

As Lya Sphinx’s king, Pampas had unbelievably high influence, especially as one of the original top four. His two losses had caused his reputation to take a hit, but he and Marzu were still held in high regard. Against Dynasty Battle Team, they had also prepared amply, especially against the Mayan pair. The battle had started, and it did not matter now. What was important was that Star Lya Battle Team must take the first win.

Neither side was moving slowly, and they very quickly entered each other’s monitoring zones. There were two win conditions. The first was to eliminate all the opponents, or to destroy all of the opponents’ defensive energy towers. But the energy towers possessed powerful energy s.h.i.+elds and protective fortifications. Of course, one could use sneak attacks, but at the same time, one had to be careful of being surrounded. Even the strongest mecha fighters needed considerable time to beat down the defensive fortifications and energy s.h.i.+elds. Besides, it was not like your opponents were just going to sit there.

If one was confident, of course they would meet head on. Who was afraid!

“It looks like both sides are fairly confident of their member lineups. Neither have chosen a 1-4 push strat, or grouped up as 5. Instead, they’re advancing separately. Let’s see then, these two Battle Teams’ individual skill. Who’s stronger, and who’s weaker!”
