“Happy birthday uncle! Hi aunty, here are some fruits, it’s just a little gesture I hope you’ll like it.” Yan Xiaosu quickly greeted Elin’s parents. Honestly speaking, he had a phobia and could not speak fluently.

“h.e.l.lo, come in quickly. Don’t stand on ceremony, you can treat this like your own home.” Elin’s mother said, after scanning through Yan Xiaosu with a smile. She had also glared at Elin, seemingly blaming her for only revealing the relations.h.i.+p now.

“Uncle and Aunty, you can call me LIttle Yan,” Yan Xiaosu said as he wiped off his sweat. He knew where he stood in terms of looks, and looking at the qualities of others, he just could not follow their footsteps no matter how hard he had tried.

“Come, Little Yan, sit down. Don’t be nervous, let’s have a talk.” Zhao Zhe smiled. Elin’s father had maintained himself really well, for he looked like he was only in his early forties, and he was amicable.

But Yan Xiaosu was still unsure about him, and barely took up half of his seat.

“Hey, Dad, don’t bully him,” Elin said, as she went to prepare for the birthday celebration together with her mother.

Yan Xiaosu was worried. But the whole time, her father had just briefly understood the situation, and did not probe into private matters. This was a.s.suring to Yan Xiaosu and he was overcome with emotions. Gradually, he opened up and was not as tensed as before. He could see that, the parents were only concerned over their daughter’s relations.h.i.+p and nothing beyond it.
