The Dark King – Chapter 10

Light physique

 

“What does hunters do?” Dudian can not help but ask: “Is it dangerous outside the giant wall? What is the danger lurking outside the giant wall?” Lots of terrifying things came into his mind. His face became pale, but fortunately his skin color was white, so his fear was not too prominent.

“You’re smart.” The slim officer smile, said: “In the giant wall outside … …”

The man next to him frowned and said:”Fernando, we have not confirmed his ident.i.ty yet, do not talk too much.”

Fernando was surprised a moment, shrugged: “Does not matter. His radiation value is 0.8 scale. It’s less than one so most probably he has “light physique” ”

“We have to do the test. Do not come to an early conclusion!” the second man frowned.

Fernando thought for a moment, bowed to Dudian and said: “You can only wait until the test finishs so that I can tell you. Neverthless at that time someone will explain everything to you.”

Dudian heard their conversation and was slightly confused about “light physique? What does that mean? ”

“Wait a few minutes and you will know.” Fernando mysteriously laughed.

All three of them walked into manor. Several gardeners who were sprinkling the law respectfull nodded their heads in salute as three of them pa.s.sed by. They walked on white stone path paved in the middle of the law. A giant door, more than 10 meters high, was opened for them to enter. Fernando led Dudian into one of the steeple towers within the mansion. Walking down the steps Fernando led Dudian into a dark room on top floor.

On their way all the servants who saw the stood still and respectfully nodden as they pa.s.sed after them.

Dudian looked at the dark room. There were no windows, but a small hole enough to vantilate the room. It was also covered with a black curtain so it has been some time that sun rays had infiltrated the room. The air in the room was cold, like the temperature of the early rainy season.

There was a metal table whose top was covered by a black cloth in the center of the room. Fernando walked towards the metal table. He took of the black cloth to reveal a smooth crystal ball. White chilly air was released from the crystall ball. The crystall ball was actually a pile of ice.

“Come on, little guy,” Fernando pulled a sharp knife hidden the inside the black leather arm and looked back at Dudian: “Come over.”

Suddenly, Dudian saw inside this almost transparent crystal ball there were very small white insects. If you did not look carefully, it was impossible to see.

“This is the “light worm”. It survives only in the cold environment.” Fernando smiled and said: “If you are a light physique, it will not eat your blood.” As soon as finis.h.i.+ng his talk, Fernando grabbed Dudian’s little hand and moved it to the top of the crystal. On top the crystal ball there was a small hole, as if a container.

After the stroke of the blade, Dudian felt pain in his finger. A drop of blood dripped from hig finger and fall onto the hole, slipping into inside the crystal.

At this time, the “bright worm” that was dormantly lying(sleeping) at the bottom of the crystall seemed to wake up from the dream as if disturbed. As if smelling the position of blood it began to slightly move towards the blood drop.
Fernando’s face changed, the second man frowned seeing this scene.

Dudian thought of Fernando’s words and his heart sank.
They saw the “light worm” quickly to climb up towards the blood. As soon as reaching the blood drop, as if a their bodies were sponges, they began to inhale the blood. Their small white bodies had a touch of red blush but soon the color quickly dissipated and restored to white.

“Impossible ah … …” Fernando frowning, murmured: “Has it been long since they ate something? Are they hungry?

His cut his finger, dripped blood into the hole.

However, the insects did not even glance at it and climbed back to the bottom of the crystal ball to curled up.

Fernando’s face was gloomy. Without a word, he quickly grabbed Dudian’s hand and made a cut. Blood fall onto the crystal ball, and insects began to climb to top to fastly inhale it.

“Really, he ain’t!” Fernando seemed to be somewhat discouraged. He loosened his grab on Dudian’s little hand, also put away his own knife.

Dudian frowned slightly. At this time he probably already knew the reason. His body was immune to radiation more than an average person. So his body’s radiation content is lower than ordinary people. His contact with the world is too short, so the body radiation content is low.
Another young man looked at Dudian indifferently: “It seems your previous family is quite good.”

Dudian was quiet and avoided speaking. Though his heart was not disappointed. Once a hunter, it is necessary to go to those dangerous areas, although he did not know what kind danger layed outside. But it is best not to be the type of risks that he imagined.

Second officer looked at Dudian and spoke in a cold voice: “little guy. Everything that you saw and heard in here have to be kept confidential. Hearing this, Dudian’s who has been calm till then, suddenly felt as if cold water was poured onto his head. His life was almost inadvertently ruined? He knew for sure now that the law can not guarantee his life. Even if you observe the law word by word to be safe and sound, there were some powers who could end your life as simple as flinching their sleeves.

Like it is the privilege they have!

This made him chill in fear but also the situation poured a strong anger into him!

The anger was the result of his own life being threatened and rules of this world which could be bended!

Since the law is unreliable, I have to develop my own rules!

Aristocratic privilege? Hunter privilege?

Dudian small hand tightly clenched into a fist. The two officers did not pay attention to him. Perhaps after they determined that Dudian does not have “light physique” so they lost interest in communicating or even observing him.

All of a sudden, coldness emerged deep in Dudian’s eyes. His mind became more mature and more ruthless and secretly in his heart decided to change his situation and have an indirect life insurance as soon as possible. “I’m not able to use guns, but gunpowder seems to be… ” Some thoughts flashed in his heart. (T/N: that’s an expression. It kinda means he can’t directly do something so he indirectly influence his situation)

“Hey!” Fernando said with a regret: “go, little guy.” His att.i.tude was not warm and friendly as before.

“By the way, if you are found to leak the information about us, including to your parents, then you can blame anyone but yourself! ”
