Vera sighed; Queen Vera’s composed, elegant smile and voluptuous b.r.e.a.s.t.s concerned her . She then checked herself and grievously sighed: “On that topic, we’ll also have to graduate to monarchs in the future . I’ll become the Elven Queen in the future, while Daisy will become the Empress of humanity . The throne in the North will be Liu Yue’s, so we’ll be the same as Queen Vera in the future . ”

Ling Yue didn’t want to let her daughter succeed the throne, though . The first reason was that not many people knew Liu Yue’s true ident.i.ty . Further, being the daughter of a mistress, those who supported Nona would leverage that against her daughter .

Troy didn’t plan to pa.s.s the throne to Nona due to her casual, naïve and bright nature . Liu Yue, who grew up among the commoners, was the best candidate for the throne . He wanted Nona to stick with Vera and lead a peaceful life in the elven lands .

The four sisters would have to separate in the end just as Vyvyan and Elizabeth were separated . In saying that, their circ.u.mstance was different . Vyvyan and Elizabeth had a poor relations.h.i.+p, thereby making it better for them not to be together . The four sisters, on the other hand, were always around each other but were going to have part ways . Furthermore, as monarchs, they wouldn’t be able to see each other whenever they pleased . As a matter of fact, they could very well be at logger heads with each other over national affairs . Thus, the future was a taboo among the sisters that none of them wanted to speak about .

The fault wasn’t their father’s . It was their obligation as his children as well as their obligation as descendants of the Galadriel and Rosvenor families . They had hundreds of reasons to not want to be separated . They were proud of being their dad’s child, nevertheless . They were proud of their background as members of the imperial family, meaning they’d have to eventually shoulder the responsibilities that came with it . Therefore, the sisters continued advancing despite the torment . They resolved to be the motivation and reason for becoming outstanding monarchs .

Queen Vera approached the four sister’s table when they were in their silence . Smiling, she queried, “What’s the matter, girls? You don’t look too happy . Did this morning’s ceremony frighten you?”

Queen Vera was in a fantastic mood, presumably . Vera picked up a cup of fruit juice and carefully clinked her cup with Queen Vera’s then offered a few words of good wishes . After Vera finished her drink in one go, her three sisters gave their blessings . With a smile, Queen Vera drank her wine the sisters blessed . She then caressed their heads: “You will become monarchs in the future, won’t you? Regardless of which of you manages to become a monarch, I’m sure you’ll all be excellent monarchs . Having said that, you also need power in addition to your kindness . You still need to be refined further . Of course, what’s most vital is determination . It’s not easy to be a monarch . After becoming a monarch, you’ll have to abandon lots of things . You’ll always be faced with choices requiring you to abandon that which you once cherished . The road to kinghood isn’t a joyous one . The path is not a straight and level path . After you acquire power, however, you’ll be able to do some things, which you couldn’t have done before . ”

Curious, Liu Yue inquired, “Queen Vera, why did you want to become Queen? It is clear that this nation does not support you . You do not seem to have any reason to become Queen . Not to mention the dangers that are part of the parcel . ”

Queen Vera pursed her lips into a smile: “Liu Yue, didn’t you just tell me the reason? This nation doesn’t support female rulers, and lots of people want to kill me . That is why I want to become the ruler . I want to change this nation . I want to defeat those who want to kill me . I want to prove to someone that I’m not inferior to her, and I want to tell her I never gave up . Perhaps you could say I want revenge, though I must admit I want to prove myself to her more than I want revenge . Her journey has been too smooth sailing . I need to throw her some curve b.a.l.l.s . ”

Queen Vera’s response was clear, yet vague, leaving Liu Yue still confused . Liu Yue nodded, albeit understanding only part of the answer . She sighed, thinking the adults’ world was so complicated .

Queen Vera left their table . Vera blankly turned her head to look at Liu Yue . Puzzled, she questioned, “Is it really that complicated to become a monarch? W-We don’t seem to have any reason, right…?”

“Yeah, we don’t . We need to succeed the thrones solely because we’re Dad’s children… And… truthfully, it has to do with the fact that our father refused to succeed the elves and humanity’s throne . We, therefore, have to succeed them in his place… Now that I think about, we don’t even have goals . How do we become excellent monarchs?”

Nona was the only one among the four who had nothing to worry about and could freely run around . With a smile, she expressed, “I don’t think that matters . I think being Dad’s children is a good reason in itself . After all, not everyone has the right to be Dad’s child!”
