Chapter 677: Backfired

After I heard that Eunuch Cao had a solar powered charging kit with a full range of charging ports, I couldn’t help but rejoice and immediately asked him to take it out and let me use it.

Eunuch Cao nodded his head and said, “In accordance with master’s orders,” then trotted in the direction of the hotel.

After Ai Mi finished scolding the director over the phone, she said she felt her sensitive skin burning in the sun from the few steps from the cafeteria to the RV and had to reapply sunscreen.

“d.a.m.n manservant, come over here and put sunscreen on me.”

Several of the bodyguards stationed at the RV were unaware of my sibling relations.h.i.+p with Ai Mi (I guess Peng TouSi was the only bodyguard who knew) and were shocked to hear that Miss Ai Mi wanted me to apply sunscreen on her.

But later someone seemed to have understood. They spoke privately in English and I think I heard the word “gay”.

I think they thought I was gay like Peng TouSi! Does it mean I have the privilege of applying sunscreen on Ai Mi because I’m gay?

“What are you waiting for?” Ai Mi showed me her arm that was burned red by the sun, “Do you have the heart… to see your master get killed by ultraviolet rays?”

Of course I can’t put up with my sister suffering from UV rays. If you can promise to not try and tempt me while I apply sunscreen, then I can certainly help you apply sunscreen on your arms and legs.

The problem is that I am almost 100% sure that the parts you want me to apply sunscreen on aren’t only your arms and legs.

“Brother, my chest is the most sensitive to the sun, and here… ah, brother, you’re so bad…”

I have to refuse! If I promise to apply sunscreen on you, then you will be killed by something even more sinister than UV rays and I will also die of a heart attack!

“Wait a minute.” I said, “I’ll go back to the cafeteria and ask Winnie to come over and put sunscreen on you, that would be most appropriate.”

“Hmph, you won’t even help for a little favor, yet you say you love me.” Ai Mi angrily slammed the door and went into the bedroom by herself, presumably to apply sunscreen on her arms.

As I stood at the entrance of the cafeteria building, I saw Li CunZhuang’s family walking around the campus of the school from afar.

Since they only heard about the news of my accident after eating breakfast, they were not hungry, so they did not accept the invitation to partic.i.p.ate in the celebration banquet. Li CunZhuang’s parents felt that they did not partic.i.p.ate in the search and rescue, so they don’t deserve any rewards.

I did not really mind, since I felt the more the merrier for these kinds of events.

When they were looking around one of the corridors of the special education school, they saw a picture on the wall describing the loving relations.h.i.+p between teachers and students and were very touched. Li CunZhuang’s father sighed:

“If Ye Lin hadn’t found Dr. Yu SuiLiang to operate on Zhuang Zi, then maybe our son would have had to attend this school.”

Li CunZhuang’s mother, who already wors.h.i.+pped Buddha statues at home, became more devout in praying and being a vegetarian after her son’s brain aneurysm, said:

“I heard that Ye Lin’s family’s online store doesn’t make a lot of money, but they still donate to this school every month, so why don’t we donate some too?”

I stood in front of the cafeteria building and waited for about ten minutes before I saw Eunuch Cao running back towards me with a book-sized object in his arms, exhausted.

“Master… charger… here…”

Eunuch Cao was so tired that he could barely speak.

I took the jungle camouflage colored solar charging bag and found that it had a foldable design that would triple in size when opened, with crystal bright solar panels that were ready to go.

“It’s, it’s not bad, right?” Eunuch Cao breathed a bit better after taking a sip of water, “It has the most advanced single-crystal silicon on the market. It has a sunlight conversion rate of more than 15%, so that your camera won’t run out of power even when filming outdoors…”

So you prepared it so you could film others secretly? I heard single-crystal silicon solar panels are much more expensive than the previous generation of silicon, so it looks like you went all out.

I looked around and saw that there was a window not far away. It had a lot of sunlight, so it was a very suitable place to put the unfolded solar charger.

I took the “ten in one” charging cable handed to me by Eunuch Cao, set up the device on the windowsill, then connected my dead phone to it.

The charging light indicated that there was power coming in, but it wasn’t enough to turn on the phone, so I prepared to wait for a while.

“Master.” Eunuch Cao said curtly, “How about you go back and eat, let your disciple watch the phone for you.”

I waved my hand, “No, you go back first, I’ll charge a little and then head back.”

I just needed to see the contents of the text message sent by the cla.s.s leader, then my task would be completed.

“Then I bid farewell, today’s food is indeed quite delicious…” Eunuch Cao said as he turned around to head back inside.

Unexpectedly, the cla.s.s leader came out at the same time. At first glance, she saw Eunuch Cao, then she saw me using a charger next to the window.

“You didn’t come back for so long, so I came out to take a look…”

My heart jumped a bit when the cla.s.s leader saw me charging my phone, so I couldn’t help but subconsciously try to cover up the charger.

The cla.s.s leader asked in a bit of bewilderment, “What’s Ye Lin doing.”

Eunuch Cao did not know what was at stake, so he casually replied, “Nothing, it’s just that the master’s phone was dead, so he wanted to use my solar charger to charge it a little, otherwise it’s troublesome to have it always off…”

Dead… off…

As you can imagine, these two words vibrated intensely in the cla.s.s leader’s mind. The cla.s.s leader appeared to be in a trance for a moment. As if a person who had been sentenced to death, was suddenly granted the hope of amnesty.

In the end, I wasn’t calm enough. I should have continued to maintain my att.i.tude that I already knew everything, so that the cla.s.s leader will think I have already read the text message.

But I panicked and hastily turned on my phone because I wanted to see the contents of that text message before the cla.s.s leader came over.

The cla.s.s leader immediately understood that my phone ran out of power before I read the text message. She was immediately re-energized and pushed away Eunuch Cao with s.h.i.+ning eyes, then took a couple of steps towards me.

I have never hated Android so much.

It boots up so slow, if it was Symbian, I would have already seen that text message.

I wanted to escape from the cla.s.s leader with my phone, but I was worried that strenuous exercise will lead to a heart attack. I was already very nervous and my heart was beating rapidly.

I had to brace myself and open my inbox in front of the cla.s.s leader. I only saw a list full of unread messages, but the bottom one had the “cla.s.s leader” as the sender.

I quickly pressed the screen.

But it was wrong. Although the text message was sent by the cla.s.s leader, the content was very ordinary and said “where are you”. The cla.s.s leader must have sent me more than one text message. When she sent this one, the cla.s.s leader must have still had great confidence in my rescue, she was not on the verge of despair, so she did not send me a confession text message yet.

I didn’t give up and kept on reading, but the cla.s.s leader immediately s.n.a.t.c.hed the phone from me in a panic. In the process, she also accidentally scratched open the back of my hand with her nails.

The cla.s.s leader’s mood was understandable. If I was reading that confession text message with the cla.s.s leader in front of me, wouldn’t that be equivalent to a “face-to-face confession”?

A second or two after taking the phone away from me, the cla.s.s leader’s face was still red beyond belief, because she thought she was a step too late.

She bitterly bit her lips as if her secret was exposed right in front of me.

But her eyes s.h.i.+ned when she saw the text message, which she didn’t want me to see, was still labeled “unread”.

I have never seen such a happy expression on the cla.s.s leader.

The cla.s.s leader did not hesitate to instantly delete her own confession text message. She even emptied the trash, so that I could not recover it.

After she repeatedly confirmed that the other text messages she left me would not cause a misunderstanding, she returned the phone back to me.

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I feel like the cla.s.s leader’s Justice Devil aura was back.

The text message that made her unable to hold her head up in front of me was finally erased, so she was resurrected as the head of a cla.s.s again.

I regret it. I blame my lack of patience. If I waited until I got home, I could have read the text message in the comfort and safety of my home.

It’s over. Unless the cla.s.s leader tells me herself, I will never know the contents of the confession text message.

“Go back to dinner, it’s inappropriate for you to not be present.”

After returning the phone to me, the cla.s.s leader was all relaxed and did not want to continue discussing the topic of the text message.

“Brains…” I, who was in shock and temporarily turned into a walking corpse, unconsciously started repeating a common line of zombies in Plants vs Zombies.

The cla.s.s leader saw the blood trail on the back of my hand and said to me apologetically:

“Does it hurt, I’ll bandage it for you…”

Eunuch Cao was watching us curiously from the sidelines, but was glared at by the cla.s.s leader and he scurried back to the cafeteria.

Coincidentally, Ai Mi, who had finished applying the sunscreen, also came down from the RV. She instantly spotted me standing with the cla.s.s leader, and the back of my hand had a scratch left by a woman’s nails.

“Ka, Katyusha, what are you doing to my manservant?” Ai Mi yelled at the cla.s.s leader, who she was a little afraid of, because she had so many bodyguards behind her, “You wanted to molest him, right? He didn’t agree, so you scratched the back of his hand?”
