Confronted with the violent attack, there was no change to the calm look on Murong Qingyan's face. She placed her palms together, gathering all of her dark power to condense a white barrier in front of her. To everyone's surprise, a glimmer of golden light could be found through the white light though indistinct.

Many people were surprised by Murong Qingyan's skill. However, when compared to Murong Qingxue, they still preferred the former.

"I never expected that Murong Qingyan can also achieve a transformation of dark power! However, she still can't compare to Miss Qingxue."

"Exactly! The dark power she condensed was impure. With this level of skill, how could she be compared to Miss Qingxue!"

The spectators surrounding the arena were scornful when they saw the golden light within the dark power that Murong Qingyan used.

However, unlike the spectators below the arena, the people in the grandstand had a complex and grave look on their faces. They were either masters of big families or senior officials of the Kingdom of Jialuo. They were are all experienced and knowledgeable so naturally, they could not believe that Murong Qingyan's dark power had a trace of golden light because it was impure.

Even though they have never encountered dark power like this, they still felt the force of life when they saw the golden light within the white barrier which was condensed by dark power. This meant the golden light was unusual.

The huge sword soon reached Murong Qingyan and collided with the white barrier. The collision burst out in a strong light which made people instantly close their eyes.

Just when people thought the white barrier was pierced by the huge sword, an unexpected scene occurred. After the huge sword touched the barrier before Murong Qingyan, it began to fade before finally breaking into pieces like gla.s.s. Then it changed into thousands of specks of light before fading from sight.

As the sword with the white light disappeared, Murong Qingyan retracted her hands and the white barrier also disappeared.

'How did that happen? Oh—"

Murong Qingxue couldn't believe what just happened. She grasped her chest as blood bubbled up into her throat before spitting it out.

The sword of white light was condensed by her dark power so she inevitably suffered serious injuries when it broke.

After spitting blood, Murong Qingxue became so weak that she staggered and almost collapsed. However, she soon stood back up and stared at Murong Qingyan with gloomy eyes.

"Murong Qingxue, it's my turn now!"

Faced with Murong Qingyan's host.i.tly, Murong Qingyan was unable to feel anything.

She placed her palms together and gathered her dark power once again. In no time, a sword of light condensed in front of her. The sword was the size of a child's arm which was worlds apart from that of Murong Qingxue's. However, the golden light still sparkled on the sword's edge.

Seeing the reverse in the arena, the surrounding spectators did not know how to react.

People sitting in the grandstand once again had a grave expression. No one thought that the compet.i.tion where the winner was very easy to predict could change into something so different.
