Lu Li could of course tell what Zi Lian was thinking about, seeing how shy she was. But his heart was frozen along with Bai Qiuxue. He had no time for romance, nor in the mood for it.

"No."

Lu Li made up his mind. He shook his head and replied, "I have other things to do. See yourself out, please."

With that said, Lu Li turned back and entered the side chamber with no pause.

"Sometimes, when you miss out on something, you will not get it back, never again."

Zi Lian murmured to herself. Her pretty face was covered in frustration and tears slid down her cheeks. She stood under the tree for a while before she ran away, hands over her face to cover up tears.

Madam Yan gave Lu Li a meaningful look and answered, "Don't be cross, emperor. Do not deny the fact that you two have been involved physically. You must treat her well. Don't go off and have affairs or I will hold you accountable…"

Lu Li was angered by the fact that instead of leaving, Madam Yan stayed behind to tease him. He banged the table and said, "I will have an affair today. Take off your clothes!"
