Lu Li was still resting quietly to recuperate. n.o.body was allowed to visit him for he was too weak. It was not his body or his soul, but his spirit that was vulnerable.

Ding Gui and the other patriarchs of the Shennong Race did pour their energy of life to Lu Li. But that was an act of force. Lu Li had lost his own. He needed time for adjustment and self-healing.

Patriarchs of the Demon-slaying Hall were relieved to hear that Lu Li had woken up even though they could not visit him at the moment. The next day came with a piece of news. The patriarchs found it unacceptable, like a bolt from the blue.

Patriarch of Law Enforcement decided to retire from the position. He would a.s.sume no position at the Demon-slaying Hall and focus entirely on cultivation.

Lu Li asked Ding Gui to leave and stayed with his two wives to comfort them. Not long afterwards, Patriarch of Law Enforcement came, saying that he would start cultivating and that he had asked Lu Zhengyang to be his successor.

Lu Li did not have a second opinion. The Demon-slaying City was generally peaceful. Given that Lu Zhengyang was the former Family Patriarch of the Lu Family, he was more than capable. As for what the patriarchs of the Demon-slaying Hall thought? Lu Li did not care.
