Qingfeng Li, Huozhu Chi, and Linglong Xue collectively stopped in their tracks. They stared at the Ghost General ahead of them, their gazes cold and grim.

They didn’t have a shred of doubt that this Ghost General was very strong. In addition, he had an army of undead soldiers at his command. This was definitely a force that could be a threat to them.

Linglong Xue glanced at Qingfeng Li, then at Huozhu Chi. “The two of you, put aside your differences for now,” she said. “Do not attack one another. The enemy before us is the Ghost General.”

Qingfeng Li and Huozhu Chi exchanged a glance. Both of their eyes were filled with roiling killing intent. They really wanted each other dead.

However, having heard what Linglong Xue had said, they both suppressed the killing intent within. They both understood that the Ghost General stood before them, and behind that, there were the one thousand baleful spirits.

These baleful spirits all exuded powerful energies, far stronger than any they’d encountered before. In their hands, they held ghostly weapons. A single lapse of caution could spell their demise.

Qingfeng Li’s expression darkened. He glanced over at Huozhu Chi. “Let’s call a truce for now,” he said, “We can settle our differences after we kill the Ghost General and those baleful spirits.”

Huozhu Chi nodded. “Fine,” he said. “Let’s kill that Ghost General and his baleful spirits first. After that, I definitely won’t let you off easy.”

Qingfeng Li, Huozhu Chi, and Linglong Xue all took out their Dharma treasures and gazed ahead cautiously at the Ghost General and the one thousand baleful spirits.

These were their enemies, creatures composed of baleful energy and which were extremely powerful.

Crimson Fire Fist!

Huozhu Chi roared as he struck out with the Crimson Fire Fist. Searing heat of over nine thousand degrees tore apart several dozens of the baleful spirits in an instant.

Qingfeng Li raised his right hand and used the Saint Solar Palm, creating a hand of sun essence flame spanning eighty thousand feet across. The blow instantly slew several dozen more of the baleful spirits.

Not content with being bested, Linglong Xue took out her Blood Demonic Bottle and cast it forward, releasing a beam of blood-red energy. Where the beam pa.s.sed, it tore through the dimensional barrier and not a single blade of gra.s.s was left untouched. The attack killed yet another several dozen baleful spirits in an instant.

In the blink of an eye, over a hundred baleful spirits had been slain by Qingfeng Li, Huozhu Chi, and Linglong Xue.

Seeing this, the Ghost General was overcome with shock. Fury burned in his eyes but, at the same time, he also clearly felt the power of these three humans. They were far more powerful than any he had encountered before.

The Ghost General roared as it abruptly swung its Undead Spear forward. Tearing through the dimensional barrier in a series of explosions, it stabbed toward Qingfeng Li.

With the force of his will, Qingfeng Li brought out his Sky-Breaking Halberd. He swung it in an arc, then stabbed it forward, intercepting the Undead Spear. The resulting collision sent a ma.s.sive boom through the sky.

A moment later, the Undead Spear snapped with an audible “Ping!” Although the Ghost General was extremely powerful, and his undead weapon was strong as well, both he and his weapon could not put up a fight against Qingfeng Li’s Sky Breaking Halberd.

Having shattered the enemy’s Undead Spear, Qingfeng Li didn’t hesitate. Moving at an incredible speed, he appeared beside the Ghost General and swung his Sky Breaking Halberd down upon him. With a loud clack, he smashed his body in half.

However, it only took an instant for the Ghost General to reconstruct himself. It screeched in fury.

Opening his mouth, he spat out a sonic-wave attack. Composed of baleful spirits, the attack was powerful and, upon appearing, it caused the dimensional barrier to crumble around it.

Even Huozhu Chi and Linglong Xue were startled by this. Knowing how powerful the baleful sonic-wave was, they raised their hands and created a defensive energy veil, blocking off their ears to prevent the baleful sonic-wave from entering his soul. Otherwise, it would cause serious harm to their spirit energies.

Qingfeng Li sneered, disdain in his eyes. This thing dared to use a sonic-wave attack in front of him? What a joke.

He opened his mouth and spat out a burst of mana sonic-waves in the form of a thunder lion. From high in the sky, black thunderbolts descended upon the sonic-wave lion in a chain of crackles, arcing on its surface.

With terrifying force, the sonic-wave thunderbolts struck onto the baleful sonic-waves. In an instant, the baleful sonic-waves were shattered, disappearing from sight.

Thump!

The Ghost General was forced back a step. Its face was pale as it stared at Qingfeng Li in terror.

For baleful spirits like himself, thunder and fire were what they were most afraid of. Thunder in particular was their worst nightmare.

Qingfeng Li’s looked around thoughtfully. Seeing that his opponent was forced back by the sonic-wave thunderbolt, he wondered to himself if he shouldn’t use the Thunder Pearl to eradicate all of the enemies.

After a moment’s consideration, Qingfeng Li decided against it. The Thunder Pearl was one of his trump cards. He shouldn’t use it unless absolutely necessary. Besides, Huozhu Chi was right beside him. Who knew what powerful Dharma treasures this nemesis of his held? It was best to keep it secret for now.

Qingfeng Li continued to swing his Sky Breaking Halberd and spit out sonic lions. He was locked in combat with the Ghost General. The shockwaves from their battle shattered heaven and earth.

To the side, Huozhu Chi and Linglong Xue were battling with the baleful spirits. Using powerful attack-oriented Dharma treasure, they mowed down the baleful spirits with ease.

In an hour’s time, the one thousand baleful spirits had all been slain by Huozhu Chi and Linglong Xue. All that remained was the Ghost General.

But even the Ghost General was in very bad shape. His whole body was charred black by Qingfeng Li’s sonic lions. Having been forced to reconstruct his body again and again, it had exhausted much of its baleful energy. Now, its body was much dimmer.

Finally, Qingfeng Li launched out a tuft of golden flames from his index and middle fingers. The golden flames fell upon the Ghost General, instantly turning his body into a pile of ash. With a final shriek, it faded into the air.

The Ghost General and the one thousand baleful spirits had all been slain. Only Qingfeng Li, Huozhu Chi, and Linglong Xue remained.

Huozhu Chi glared at Qingfeng Li, who glared back at him. Both of them radiated violent murderous energies.

Linglong Xue opened her mouth, wanting to stop them. In the end, however, she closed her mouth and said nothing. She knew that these two were enemies. If it hadn’t been for the appearance of the Ghost General, they would have fought each other to the death long ago.

Huozhu Chi glared at Qingfeng Li, his eyes filled with killing intent. “Today, only one of us is walking away alive,” he said. “Either I kill you, or you kill me.”

Qingfeng Li grinned. “That’s just what I wanted to say. Go on, I’ll give you a chance. Otherwise, there is no doubt you will die today.”

Huozhu Chi swung his right fist forward, forming a vital essence Crimson Fire Fist, eighty thousand feet wide. With temperatures of over nine thousand degrees, it was a terrifying sight to behold.
