Chapter 472: Collusion

Translator: Alsey Editor: Chrissy

Mount Tai was considered the genesis of extreme yang and the origin of myriad life. It was already an important birthplace of Eastern culture since ancient times.

The chronicles of s.h.i.+ji stated that "The sky is unreachably high, but those who stand atop Mount Tai to offer sacrifice can hope to approach the divine spirits."

Since ancient times, the emperors of successive generations had always offered sacrifices here.

Chu Feng had arrived and was fast approaching Mount Tai, glancing, from a distance, its majesty and increasing grandeur.

Mount Tai was even more majestic than before. As the earth evolved and all the famed mountains awoke, it had expanded to tens of thousands of meters high!

It was now like a sleeping divine beast lying across and suffusing the area with its suppressive might. It was surrounded by mists and its pressure was rather stifling.

It was unknown just how many times it had grown. It was vast and boundless like a divine wall separating the heavens and the mortal world. Atop the mountain was the land of the G.o.ds while at its base was the mortal world.

Back then, Chu Feng was still quite weak. He saw the Hollow Jade Temple Master and the Peac.o.c.k King engage in a great battle here and felt so astonished that he thought they were G.o.ds. Now, he, himself, had come here and was about to borrow the Pilgrimage Grounds to march towards greater heights.

Atop the mountain, ancient trees blotted out the skies and giant vines crawled across the ground like serpents.

There were fields of green pine where the rumbling pine waves produced sounds akin to the cras.h.i.+ng tides.

The mountain was really too big. Some people claimed it to be the most important mountain since ancient times and for good reason.

After the upheavals, this place was completely different and had slowly begun to reveal its true appearance!

It wasn't peaceful here. There were vicious birds tens of meters long circling in the air and vicious beasts akin to small hills emerging through the mountains. They would occasionally let out shocking roars.

"Aou…"

A loud roar was heard as a b.l.o.o.d.y green elephant appeared in the distance. It was struggling with all its might but a giant black snake, the size of a train carriage, had twisted around it and was gradually swallowing the elephant whole.

At this time, a deafening bird's cry rang out which made people's blood boil. A two-hundred-meter long blood-colored avian dived down. It caught the giant snake with its sharp claws and pecked at the elephant with its beak, killing the both of them.

A shower of blood fell from the sky.

Chu Feng's expression froze. The beasts and birds from within the folded s.p.a.ces had already escaped and were already moving about around Mount Tai!

In the depths of each famed mountain and not just on the star pa.s.sages, there were still numerous prehistoric giant beasts. They were trapped within the dimensional s.p.a.ces and had been trying to escape all this time.

Presently, these famed mountains had simply become primitive lands, once again recreating the environments the ancients had lived in.

Additionally, there were some humanoid creatures climbing the mountains. The native evolvers and the outer realm beings all knew there were fortunes to be had in the Pilgrimage Grounds. There were people coming here in search of fortunes every day.

There were traces of blood all along the way because this place had seen a fair number of conflicts.

Chu Feng climbed up the mountain but didn't take the main road and, instead, went through the mountainous woods. Even in the spa.r.s.ely populated areas, there was no shortage of carvings and inscriptions. All of them were true vestiges left behind by the ancient personages.

There were quite a lot of vicious beasts in the forest. Some were extremely violent and even dared launch attacks against him.

Presently, the mountain was enormous and shockingly vast.

"Mn, many domains have awakened and some have become more dangerous." Chu Feng frowned.

Near the peak, there was a sign erected near the stone steps with the words Southern Heavenly Gates carved in gold. The mist here was very dense and it looked quite like a heavenly court.

Chu Feng didn't go through this area but, instead, took a detour around the cliffsides. In the end, he arrived near the Jade Emperor Peak. It was incomparably vast here and countless times wider than before.

Mists and clouds were curling upwards amidst the array of ancient ruins.

There were many life forms here. There were cerberi, silver armadillos, etc. There were also humans too who had come to search for fortunes.

The fragrance of the glistening yellow mutant fruits suffused the cliffs. Mutant beasts were killing each other there, fighting for the opportunity to evolve.

Chu Feng didn't want to provoke trouble. He wanted to enter the secret realm quietly without alerting anyone. That was because he would be in trouble if anyone were to disturb him while he was climbing the sacrificial altar.

The b.l.o.o.d.y scene atop the mountain was exceptionally eye-catching since battles had broken out in many places.

Not so far in the distance, an old man whose body and hair had been dyed red with blood lay on the ground beside a large limestone. His lips were parched and his eyes were dim and dispirited.

"Water… give me some water, young man… save me." He was very weak and his voice was very soft, almost inaudible and also hoa.r.s.e.

On his ribs, there were traces of having been clawed by a beast and even the bones were visible. He was drenched in blood and many other parts on his body were in the same state. There was a knife pierced through his chest and dripping with blood.

Chu Feng frowned. A huge battle had taken place on the mountain. He had seen some corpses on his way up, and here, there were many wounded people collapsed on the ground.

He went over. He naturally wouldn't ignore someone who was asking for help.

"Old man, don't worry. You'll recover." Chu Feng crouched down, but soon afterwards, he suddenly grabbed the knife in the old man's chest and stirred it around, causing the man to scream in misery.

Pfft!

Chu Feng drew out the knife within moments and with a forceful slash, cut off the old man's head in amidst a splash of blood.

"You're so ruthless!" The old man's eyes had almost split apart. His head flew out at the very last moment with great indignance.

Thump!

The head was then cut into two in the air following a slash of Chu Feng's sword. It had been destroyed in both form and spirit, and would never rise again.

At almost the same time, the seemingly injured people around him all leapt up. They transformed within moments from their previous feeble state and became greatly spirited. Their eyes were like golden lanterns and appeared quite terrifying.

"Since you were gifting a carefree realm ent.i.ty for me to kill, I could only accept gracefully!" Chu Feng said calmly.

At the same time, he chose an advantageous location that was suitable for battle.

Just now, he had almost fallen into the trap, but his perception was too astonis.h.i.+ng and made his move at the very end after realized something was wrong. Otherwise, it was likely that he would've been wounded by that old man's sneak attack.

Doubtlessly, these people possessed some secret treasures capable of concealing their killing intent. They wanted to ambush Chu Feng here and kill him.

Their eyes were frosty—the old man's failure just now meant that he would have no good ending. But it still made them furious to see the man killed like this in front of everyone.

A carefree realm expert was killed just like that—it was truly too unjust. There wasn't even a battle and he had delivered his life to Chu Feng just like that. This made people indignant.

"Slaughter him!"

These people let out a growl and attacked at the same time. They surrounded the place and, soon, a large net descended from the sky. It came suddenly and trapped Chu Feng beneath it. The net flickered l.u.s.trously like a patch of emerging starlight.

Its aura was absolutely terrifying and horrified everyone. It was as if an all-encompa.s.sing net had descended and trapped him inside.

There was a type of terrifying demonic energy within that could restrain a person's spiritual energy. It released a type of spiral force and was poised to ground apart the victim's flesh.

Chu Feng's expression changed immediately after coming into contact. It was a secret treasured which had surpa.s.sed the carefree realm, one that would normally be used by a visualization realm cultivator. But now, it was being used to target him.

The only thing fortunate was that there were no visualization realm cultivators in this area. After some thought, such a character would still face a fair number of difficulties if they wanted to come into earth's s.p.a.ce!

Thump!

Chu Feng didn't hesitate at all—he brought out the diamond chakram and fired it. He had no intention to seize this secret treasure for his own use because safety was the first concern and it was best to destroy it.

After he enters the carefree realm, he would be a fish leaping through the vast oceans and a bird flying through the skies. At that time, he would have nothing to fear and he could exchange blows with them any time. It wasn't that easy to seize the secret treasure, however.

The diamond chakram glowed brightly and spat out essence flames of extreme yang to burn the giant net coming down from the sky.

"G.o.ddammit!" Some people were resentful.

Even experts at the realization realm couldn't endure once the essence flames of extreme yang came out. Such high-level energy could even immolate a golden arhat, not to mention a lifeless realization realm treasure.

Pop!

The sparkling starry net flickered immediately and let out a peculiar sound. The strands of l.u.s.trous fibers became distorted and were soon torn apart.

Boom!

A bronze paG.o.da descended from above with an imposing manner.

It was actually another realization realm treasure. Had Chu Feng not been decisive enough and fired his diamond chakram, he would probably be in trouble now.

They had unexpectedly used two realization realm secret treasures in succession to kill him. After the large net was torn, there was yet another paG.o.da—under normal circ.u.mstances, Chu Feng would be struck by the latter once he charges out from the net.

Boom!

The essence flames of extreme yang surged. It surrounded the paG.o.da, turning it a scarlet red and melting part of it.

"Ah, how hateful!" Someone cried out and hurriedly withdrew the tower, his heart dripping blood. However, it was already broken; the raging essence flames were too intense.

"Jingle! jingle!"

In the distance, someone shook his right hand violently and jade green ripples flew out one after another. That was a little green bell, another visualization realm secret treasure. At this moment, it was displaying its might.

Chu Feng immediately felt as though his head was about to burst. The ripples from the bell a.s.saulted the spirit.

Even though the operator was merely a carefree realm ent.i.ty and not a visualization realm expert, it was still quite terrifying.

Within moments, the corners of Chu Feng's mouth began to drip with blood and he staggered backwards.

The monastic robe on his body erupted with light. At such a juncture, there was no longer a choice even though he didn't want to activate the monastic robe.

Boom!

Scarlet light blossomed and red radiance surged towards the skies.

The uncomfortable sensation was reduced significantly after Chu Feng was covered by the monastic robe. He let out a deep breath, recalled the diamond chakram and glanced coldly at the people here.

"Penglai?!" He said coldly.

That was because these people were quite similar in style to those from Penglai. Additionally, judging from their clothes, they seemed to be from an immortal island.

Chu Feng's killing intent surged to the skies. He was truly furious because those from Penglai had always been more proactive in trying to kill him than the outer realm beings. They had chased after him the entire way.

He even suspected whether those from Penglai were still native evolvers. Their actions were truly shocking—they were submissive towards outsiders and suppressive towards the natives.

Just what feud did he have with Penglai? All of this was just because he had refused a coachman who had gone to subdue him.

They actually dared do this repeatedly, over and over again.

"Kill!" The man shouted.

The three visualization realm treasures in his hand were all dug out from the ruins locked within s.p.a.ce. Right now, he had lost two of them, filling him with distress and killing intent.

Chu Feng didn't hold back at all this time. He held Li Lin's treasured pestle in his right hand and went forth for the kill. He weaved back and forth through the group and began a ma.s.sacre.

Jingle!

The bell's sound was ear-splitting. Those green ripples weren't just soundwaves but also contained a mysterious energy amplified by the green bell. It a.s.saulted the very soul.

Boom!

Very suddenly, Chu Feng shot out the diamond chakram and blasted one of them apart. The snowy white bracelet flew out from his body and struck the golden bell with a clang.

The wielder let out a loud cry. He let go of the bell because his hand was drenched in blood and could no longer hold onto it.

The bell immediately dimmed down after striking the bell and the sound waves quieted down.

Thump thump thump…

The treasured pestle in Chu Feng's hand emitted light and erupted with a golden energy. It immediately killed the three people around him on the spot.

"Saint Child Zhu Wuque, Imperial Son Qi Yu, Saint Child Yuwen Feng, have you all arrived? The whole world must kill Chu. It's a good opportunity right now. Please emerge and kill him together!"

The Penglai man shouted loudly with sinister eyes as he summoned the outer realm saint children. It seemed there had long since been a collusion!
