What happened next shocked them so much that they lost the courage to move. When there was still a distance of one zhang between their attacks and Chen Feng, the attacks stopped. Chen Feng, on the other hand, ignored them as he focused on inspecting the items inside the jade pillars.

Chen Feng walked forward to stand before one of the jade pillars. Stretching a finger, he tapped the jade pillar and it burst apart. A gourd, carved from jade, fell into Chen Feng's grasp.

“Sacred-tier medicinal pills, not bad,” Chen Feng said in a hushed tone before moving to the other jade pillar.

This time, a scripture fell into his grasp.

Tsk, tsk. It's a minor immortal technique. Not bad. This can be considered as a minor harvest.

Another pillar burst apart. This time, it was a heavy lance.

“Not shabby, not shabby at all.” Chen Feng nodded and his divine sense swept forward. Laid out before him were tracts of herbal fields. They were all in an orderly state, as though someone had been constantly taking good care of them all. 

“Come on out!” Chen Feng shouted. He did not immediately take action to collect the spiritual herbs there.

His earlier scan had informed him that there were ten million herbs that were over 100,000 years old there. The more ordinary herbs were practically countless. That said, Chen Feng was only slightly excited and he quickly recollected himself. While the number of spiritual herbs there was quite high, it was incomparable to the herbal fields inside the Longevity Tower. Chen Feng was someone with a fair bit of experience, after all. Thus, he was able to maintain his cool. 

After Chen Feng shouted, ten or so spirit creatures emerged from the herbal fields. Chen Feng knew that they were the spiritual herbs that had gained wisdom. To Chen Feng's surprise, several of them had already cultivated up to the Yao Immortal (Earthen) stage.

The spirit creatures seemingly knew how powerful Chen Feng was and they displayed a show of respect as they stood before Chen Feng.

“I want to give you fellows a better place,” Chen Feng said bluntly. At the same time, he strengthened the divine sense that he was spreading outwards.

“Great immortal, we have no issues with that. However, we do not have the final say here,” one of them, the spirit of a Snow Ginseng, said in a troubled manner.

“Is that so? In that case, tell your boss to come out!” Chen Feng's voice became like thunder, reverberating across the s.p.a.ce there. The spiritual herbs that had gained wisdom and cultivated out spiritual bodies were so terrified that they immediately ran back into their real bodies.

Silently, a ma.s.s of vines drilled their way out from the ground, bursting outwards all of a sudden to wrap around Chen Feng.

Chen Feng swiftly stamped and the ground quaked. Instantly, the soil became a hundred times firmer. His hand also swiftly grasped to catch all the vines there. Then, with a sudden pull, he caused the ground to crack apart and something the size of a small mountain was pulled out. This spirit's body was covered in countless vines. Chen Feng shouted, utilizing a secret soul technique – the Soul Subduing Mantra – against it. As expected, the vine spirit immediately fell still and a hint of fear appeared within its eyes.

Chen Feng then sent a Great Longevity Palm forward to grab the vine spirit and bring it closer.

The ma.s.sive vine spirit promptly begged for mercy. Seeing that left Chen Feng at a loss at whether to laugh or cry.

After arriving, Chen Feng found that he was the first to arrive. Of course, he did not put those at the Earthen Immortal and Human Immortal stage into the equation. When there was still a distance of 5,000 kilometres between those cultivators and the immortal sword, they had to stop, incapable of approaching any further.

When there were only 50 kilometres between him and the immortal sword, Chen Feng found that he could no longer defend against the might of the immortal sword. With a thought, he entered the Longevity Tower. Next, the Longevity Tower jumped to arrive atop the immortal sword.

The Longevity Tower had devoured a high-grade Immortal artifact before. Add the fact that it possessed the body of a Divine artifact, this immortal sword – no matter how powerful it may be – was incapable of stopping the Longevity Tower.

“Good! Tower, hurry up and collect it!” Chen Feng smiled. It will be done once they bring the sword into the Longevity Tower.

However, it was not as simple as that. Just as the Longevity Tower was about to take action, some other cultivators took action. Two mid-level Ascendant Immortals appeared, one from the left and one from the right. They appeared before the sword and stretched their hands out to grab it.

“Hurry!” Chen Feng shouted.

“No rush.” Unlike Chen Feng, Tower responded calmly.

The actions of the two Ascendant Immortals triggered a counter attack from the sword and two tangible beams of sword energy shot out, sending the two Ascendant Immortals flying. One of them was nearly cleaved into two.

“That guy is a cultivator from the Lightning Plane. As for the other one, I do not know. Looks like Eternal World still has a lot of hidden characters. These fellows will only take action during critical moments,” Chen Feng said smilingly.

“This is a high-grade Immortal artifact that has emerged after a long time. It has acc.u.mulated a great deal of malevolent energy. Collecting it will not be easy. Let's wait for a while longer and let others check it out.” Next, the Longevity Tower silently hid itself within the streams of sword energy, leaving not a single trace of its existence behind.

“Why go through all the trouble? Just take it,” Chen Feng mumbled. He was fearful that some unexpected variables might pop up if they waited too long.

“What do you know, kid? Collecting this sword will definitely exhaust some of my strength. There are other good items around. What happens if we fail to get any more?”

“Fine, fine! I'll listen to you. This sword is not that attractive to me. If you like it, you can just devour it to restore your strength.”

“Forget it. This is an intact Immortal artifact, after all. We should keep it.”

Two more cultivators appeared. The two of them were sword cultivators at the Ascendant Immortal stage. Like a sword, one of them broke through the surrounding streams of sword energy to arrive before the sword. The other cultivator, though, seemingly melded with the sword energy.
