Ye Youyou started to see red, but her vision was marred by tears. Staring at the man in front of her, the heart she had managed to calm down with much difficulty started to hurt again.

“Shen Luo’an” Ye Youyou’s voice wasn’t loud, and sounded a little weak.

Every time she spoke, her head would hurt. As if she found the vibrations of her vocal cords jarring, Ye Youyou couldn’t help but close her eyes to seek relief. She looked as if she could pa.s.s out again at any time.

“Oh?” A look of surprise appeared on Shen Luo’an’s face. His laughter was gentle, but his eyes were cold as he asked, “You’re not calling me by endearments anymore? Can’t keep up the act?”

Ye Youyou’s head started spinning. As she stared at Shen Luo’an, tears escaped the corner of her eyes.

The sound of footsteps came from outside. Quickly, the doctor and nurses entered.

Ye Qianqian followed closely behind, keeping her eye on Ye Youyou.

Ye Youyou kept her eyes trained on Shen Luo’an and refused to look away.

Shen Luo’an simply blinked in reply. With a smile on his face, he walked out of the room with his hands in his pockets.

The erratic line displayed on the heart-rate monitor showed how affected Ye Youyou was. Ye Qianqian looked on as Shen Luo’an walked out. Regret seeped into her heart.

She should have known better than to let him enter.

Seeing Shen Luo’an exit, Ye Qianqian followed behind.

Shen Luo’an sensed footsteps behind him. He stopped in his tracks and turned around. “Since you’re Ye Youyou’s older sister, I’ll leave her to you for the next few days. I am busy with other matters. I will foot the entire hospital bill until she gets discharged.”

That meant to say that he had no intention of staying to take care of Ye Youyou.

Ye Qianqian glared at him and spat out in anger, “She’s your wife! Where the h*ll are you off to? What can be more important than your wife’s life?”

“Wife?” Shen Luo’an reacted as if he’d just heard a joke and burst out laughing. He turned to look at Ye Qianqian with raised eyebrows. “Maybe she treats me as her husband. But I have never treated her as my wife!”

“You…” Ye Qianqian was about to explode in fury. She had never met such an abominable man ever before.

How could such a man deserve to marry a good lady like Ye Youyou?

“You piece of sh*t! Ye Youyou has loved you since she was young, and this is how you repay her? If you didn’t love her, why did you marry her in the first place? What a b*stardly thing to do!” Ye Qianqian’s words were sharp.

She didn’t care that she was in a hospital either, and her volume wasn’t low.

When Shen Luo’an heard Ye Qianqian’s words, he turned around and looked at her.

Face-to-face with Ye Qianqian’s livid expression, Shen Luo’an chuckled without any care. It was hard to tell if his next words were of praise or insult.

“You are sisters indeed. Your character is very much like hers when she was young.” As Shen Luo’an spoke, an indescribable expression flashed across his eyes. There was a little yearning and a little warmth, but, soon enough, he turned around and walked on. “She wanted me to marry her, so I married her. That was what I owed her.”

The current Ye Youyou was a lot more fake. Her pretenses were building up day by day.

Ye Qianqian didn’t understand what he meant. When she saw him leave, she stomped her foot in anger and bellowed, “Stop where you are! Shen Luo’an, since you know that was what you owed her, shouldn’t you pay your debt in full and take responsibility for her?”
