Chapter 2604: Wait

Jin Wu Manor understandably meant Reverend Jin Wu’s residence.

The whole mansion was located in the centre of Palmy City, covering an extremely large area. It was one of the most magnificent mansions.

The mansion’s splendor served to prove Reverend Jin Wu’s status as definitely one of the most n.o.ble people in this Palmy branch.

This reminded Su Mo to stay vigilant. At such a place, enemy or not, he dared not neglect the slightest thing.

The disciple led Su Mo into Jin Wu Manor, crossed the Jade Avenue, and soon came to a side hall.

There was no one in there. No sign of Ling Chang.

“Please wait here!” the disciple said before leaving.

“Thanks!” Su Mo expressed his grat.i.tude, and proceeded to wait quietly.

After waiting for quite some time, no one came and he could not help but frown.

Then, after a moment’s thought, he sent another message to Ling Chang. If she was in this mansion, and at such a short distance, even the worst communication seal could do the trick.

Yet, Su Mo’s attempt was like dragging a mud cow into the sea. Nothing happened. His heart sank, worried for Ling Chang.

Ling Chang was of Pure Yin Body. Because of this, she had been desired during the time at the Firmament World, desired again in the Wasteland, and continued to be desired right here.

Step, step, step~

Just then, footsteps sounded. An eight-foot-tall old man strode into the room.

The old man had grayish hair, his equally grayish beard dangled to the height of his chest. Although slightly old, he was quite spirited, giving off an energetic appearance.

He walked into the room and approached Su Mo.

“Good day, sir!” Su Mo bowed. He might not have known who the old man was, but he had a feeling the old man was like an unreachable mountain, one that could suffocate others.

The old man did not show it, but his imposing manner demanded respect.

“Are you Xuan Qing’s cla.s.smate?” the old man asked as he gave Su Mo a once-over.

“Yes!” Su Mo nodded, then curiously asked, “And who are you?”

“I am Reverend Jin Wu!” the old man said, stroking his beard.

“Reverend Jin Wu, please pardon my ignorance!” said Su Mo, surprised. From what he had heard, Reverend Jin Wu was a powerful fighter in the Great Completion Supreme Realm.

Having stayed at the Cloud Ridge World for quite some time, Su Mo knew how the levels of Xeons were divided there.

In the realm of Xeons, known as the Supreme Realm, there were a total of four phases, namely the Beginning, the Small Accomplishment, the Great Accomplishment, and the Completion.

The three Xeons he was looking for were actually only at the Beginning Supreme Realm, because they had not been able to improve at all since he had stepped in there.

Hence, he could hardly imagine the terrifying powers held by Reverend Jin Wu of the Great Completion Supreme Realm.

But, Su Mo was not too worried. There was no history between them, so the Reverend had no reason to harm him.

“Where are you and Xuan Qing from?” Reverend Jin Wu beckoned to him.

“Oh, we come from another Great World,” Su Mo replied honestly, though he had not wanted to. But since he was unfamiliar with the regions of the Cloud Ridge World, it would not do him good to lie, so he told the truth.

“Oh? Which one?” Reverend Jin Wu asked, brows raised. He meant to ask which Star Su Mo came from, so he was not expecting this reply.

He did not believe Su Mo because, although the Primitive Continent might have created the three thousand Great Worlds, the Worlds were not interconnected.

Only the few terrible existences in the Primitive Continent could travel to different Worlds.

“The Wasteland, one of the Lower Worlds!” Su Mo gave an honest answer.

“The Wasteland?” Reverend Jin Wu paused. In truth, other than the Upper Worlds, he only knew a few names of the Middle Worlds. No one really bothered to learn about the Lower Worlds, so he knew nothing.

“Since you and Xuan Qing are from the Wasteland, how did you get here?”

Reverend Jin Wu sat on the main seat and gazed at Su Mo with inscrutable eyes.

He did not believe that Su Mo, who was not even from the Supreme Realm, could cross the Sea of the Universe to the Cloud Ridge World.

“The Wasteland had come to the end of the age, many of us were looking for a way out. Xuan Qing and I were just lucky to come here by coincidence!” Su Mo said modestly.

He had his doubts. Since Ling Chang was here, why had the Reverend asked about their origins? Hadn’t he asked Ling Chang before?

And since Ling Chang had changed her name to Xuan Qing, she must have done so herself. No one else would grant her such a coincidental name.

Reverend Jin Wu frowned. Had they come here just because of luck?

However, he did not want to verify it. As for whether the person in front of him was Xuan Qing’s junior, he would find out when Xuan Qing had recovered.

Next, he beckoned again, “Xuan Qing was a.s.saulted by the great s.p.a.ce beast. I was the one who saved her. But she’s heavily injured and currently under treatment. It’ll take her half a month’s time for her to regain consciousness!”

“What? Is it that serious?” Su Mo said, shocked. The great s.p.a.ce beast they were talking about had to be the one the size of a star which he had previously come across.

A beast of that size was quite shocking to him.

However, there were very few giant beasts like that in s.p.a.ce. On the way to Palmy Star, he encountered only one. Could the beast which he and Ling Chang had encountered be one and the same?

“She’s stable, don’t worry!” Reverend Jin Wu shook his head. Xuan Qing had just been knocked out by the beast’s breath, not really attacked by it, otherwise she could have died.

He had rescued her because he had seen that the girl’s combat power surpa.s.sed other fighters of the same level by leaps and bounds. She had great potential, a rare find on Palmy Star, so he had saved her.

For such an unbelievable talent to have fallen in the mouth of the great s.p.a.ce beast would be a shame.

“That’s great! Thank you for saving her!” Su Mo nodded in grat.i.tude.

“Since you’re her junior, do stay at my residence until she wakes!” Reverend Jin Wu said. He still did not believe him, but he hardly cared if he spoke the truth or not. All would be clear once Xuan Qing had recovered.

“A-Alright!” Su Mo hesitated but nodded nonetheless. He was not sure why Reverend Jin Wu, as someone from the Great Completion Supreme Realm, would be kind enough to treat and cure Ling Chang?

He could not have done so for the Pure Yin Body because, for someone of high level like him, the Pure Yin Body was basically of no use to him.

But it was a tough question. Perhaps the man was just being kind!

“Take him to the guest room!”

Soon after Reverend Jin Wu had given his order, a young disciple came in from the outside and offered to take Su Mo to the guest room.

“Sir, I shall take my leave!” Su Mo balled his fists together and bowed to Reverend Jin Wu again before following the disciple out of the hall.

A while later, Su Mo was arranged in one of the courtyards on the edge of the Jin Wu Manor. The courtyard was s.p.a.cious, quiet and peaceful, covering an area of over a hundred square meters.

Su Mo sighed as he sat on a stone bench in the courtyard. He had come for Ling Chang, but he had never thought her injuries were that serious.

But, she was considered lucky to have survived a great s.p.a.ce beast’s attack.

Su Mo shook his head helplessly a moment later. He could only wait now and discuss their plans after Ling Chang recovered.

He could only hope Reverend Jin Wu would not stop them, otherwise things could get ugly..
