Excluding her, there were a total of four secretaries. One was either late or absent, while the rest were no better – they were either looking at themselves in the mirror or gossiping.

“Huh? So what of it?” He Yan and the other secretaries stared at Pei Ge in confusion, not understanding what she meant.

“Liu Yue and my cousin don’t know each other at all. Very coincidentally, that cousin is the one in those photos.” Pei Ge shrugged her shoulders and shared this piece of information in a laid-back manner.

“Wow!” The news was like a bomb to these few secretaries and it made them feel very excited.

“So what you mean to say is that the thread’s content is fabricated?”

Pei Ge tugged at her lips when she saw three pairs of twinkling eyes on her. Helpless, she answered, “Not everything in that thread is fabricated. For example, that brother-in-law of mine is indeed my former boyfriend. However, I didn’t dump him for money, as it was him who dumped me.”

Obviously, she would appear to be lying if she denied everything on that thread.

All these secretaries thought that her detailed explanation made sense and felt for a moment that her words were more credible than that forum thread.

The smug Pei Ge did not notice that the three secretaries had stopped speaking. The whole office was eerily quiet save for her incessant prattling and badmouthing of Ji Ziming.

“Cough, cough, cough!” She only felt that something was off when He Yan kept on coughing.

Suddenly, she felt a chill down her spine. Abruptly turning her head around, a dark, sullen, and cold face appeared right before her eyes.

“Pei Ge, come into my office.”
