Chapter 1265: How could someone understand another person’s thoughts so well?
Ji Ziming called his a.s.sistant to look for his son.
However, not long after the call ended, Ji Chi returned.
He re-appeared before them again.
Pei Ge was surprised to see the child standing right outside of the door.
“Baby?!” she exclaimed, quickly squatting and embracing him.
“Where have you been? You’ve scared me to death…”
She hugged him tightly, appearing very happy, as though she had recovered her lost treasure.
Meanwhile, the child, who was being hugged by her, was stupefied.
His initial shock soon faded; his eyes, as well as his nose, then reddened and he started sobbing.
“What’s wrong, Baby? What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
She got even more anxious when the child began weeping miserably.
Looking closely at his wet face, she felt as though her heart were being squeezed by a pair of hands.
“Little boy, are you hurt somewhere?”
However, no matter how much she asked him, he did not give her a reply and only said repeatedly, “Mommy… mommy…”
He kept calling her that, appearing as though he were nursing a grievance.
“Be good and stop crying. Let’s wipe your tears and we’ll go eat.”
She gently carried him in her arms comfortingly.
The other kids and Ji Ziming heard the commotion and came out from the room.
The three did not appear to be worried when they saw Ji Chi crying in her arms.
This was especially so for the girl, who even teased him.

Pei Ge stared at her daughter speechlessly when she heard her remark.
“Ran Ran, don’t speak nonsense!”
“I’m not! Little brother is just crying because he is happy and wants to be spoiled by mommy!”
The girl pouted petulantly after being scolded.
Her mother did not take her words to heart, yet the boy in question did, and… it stunned him.
He ran to her after he wiped his tears away and left Pei Ge’s embrace.
He kept his eyes peeled on the little girl as suspicion filled them.
“Crybaby brother, what do you want?” Ran Ran was still upset over what had just happened.
“How do you know… what I’m thinking about?”

He initially thought that it was mere coincidence, but he soon realized that that was not the case after putting two and two together…
