Perhaps her encounter with Qiao Jingyun had changed the way she saw things, as after leaving the cafe, Pei Ge took out her phone and dialed the number she still kept in her heart after five years.
Before long, someone on the other end picked up the call.

I’d better hurry up. My precious kids are waiting for me.
What she did not expect, though, was for the man to get to her place earlier than she would.
When she opened the door, she found her two kids not waiting for her like usual.
Just as she was feeling confused, she heard cheers and laughter coming from the kitchen.
“Uncle is so good! I wanna eat this!”
“No, no. Daddy’s making this for me!”
“Tsk! Little brother, can you not be so petty?”
When she heard this tender voice, she came to the realization that the man had gotten here ahead of her, and he seemed to have been here for a while as he had already taken over her kitchen for cooking!
After changing into her slippers, she hurried into the kitchen.
She saw her two kids and Ji Chi standing at the kitchen doorway, watching the man cook food in awe.

Seeing that the three children had not noticed her presence behind them, she coughed.
The trio only discovered her arrival when they heard her call.

The three little guys cheered in unison before surrounding her.
“Mommy, why are you back only now? Uncle has been waiting here for a long time already.
“Uncle is really great! He can even carve rabbits out of carrots!” The girl excitedly told her mother as she hugged her thigh.
“And dogs!”
“And chickens!”
An An and Ji Chi chimed in.
Pei Ge could not help but smile when she saw the same excitement on her children’s faces.
When did this man get so good with children?
With this thought in mind, she sneaked a peek at the man.
When did he become so approachable?
He seemed less a high-and-mighty man, less like a G.o.d, and more like… a regular father whom his kids adored now…
