MMORPG: The Elementalist Chapter 75: The One Who Slipped Away

The Stygianlock Centiking had been roped into battle with ten Beastblood Berserkers who were equipped with s.h.i.+elds. Its enormous body trembled violently under the relentless bombardment of Tier 4 Skills and Arrow Attacks.

A handful of centipedes that resp.a.w.ned all over the place were also blocked by more than ten players who went around to the side of the main battlefield. Only the fruited plant at the most central part of the cave stood straight in its original spot without getting disturbed.

After sensing the situation in his surroundings, Qin Ruo's state of mind was instantly agitated.

Should I get over there? There's no monster around, and the Boss is currently entangled in the battle with the party. It seems like the party won't be able to notice the situation over here momentarily as well. Now's the best chance to gather that Potion material! However, that Potion material was right under the noses of the clan party's players. If he charged over to gather it right then, those players would definitely send their men over to end his little life even before the Stygianlock Centiking was able to come back—an unknown high-grade Potion material would be about as valuable as an ordinary Gold-tier Equipment. So, Qin Ruo believed that those players were more than willing to do that.

"Haih, if that Herb could just come nearer to me by perhaps, two to three meters, things would be better for me." As he continued to stare his eyes out at the fruit plant by the edge of the light, Qin Ruo shook his head in self-pity and sighed.

But… would the plant stand up and walk into the darkness on its own?

Obviously not! Qin Ruo smiled bitterly to himself. Suddenly, he paused his gaze for a moment as he laid eyes on the Illuminating Crystal, which was radiating with a gentle, greenish light.

"F*ck that. There's no reason for me to move the Potion material. If I can just move the light a few meters slightly to the other side… Hehe, that's not impossible to do."

Upon setting his thoughts on that, Qin Ruo, who remained in the dark, revealed a smile so seldom seen that he thought it to be an evil smile.

"Try harder! Tear down its Barrier!"

There was an unbearable stalemate situation on the battlefield, and a thick, sonorous voice suddenly echoed in everyone's ears! A Berserker who was taller than two meters charged out from the darkness. He was wearing a set of pure black, beast-skin battle armor and carrying a giant broad-sword that was almost as tall as him. His eyes revealed extremely ferocious flashes of light as though he was a warrior of death who just crawled out from h.e.l.l, charging right onto the battlefield.

His attire was completely different from the t.i.tanwraith Berserkers and Beastblood Berserkers. It was obvious that he was the last type among the three main branches of the Berserker Cla.s.s—the Savage Berserker. They were renowned for their short-range bursts and their high Attack!

The Savage Berserkers' Defense and equipment were not great, but their Attack was extremely high. The most horrifying thing about them was their instant outburst, where the impact and momentum from the attack were far greater than any other melee-type Cla.s.s. When it came to pure battle power, the Savage Berserkers were absolutely worthy to be number one. 

Right before his eyes, the Savage Berserker's Attack power was completely shown. He no longer paid any heed to the Beastblood Berserkers who were forcefully taking on the Stygianlock Centiking. All of a sudden, the Savage Berserker activated his Berserk. Only the afterimage of the Savage Berserker was left floating in the air as he charged into the creature's range by squeezing through the middle of a few Beasblood Berserkers. Swinging down his broad-sword heavily upon the Stygianlock Centiking's limbs, a clear clanking sound of steel clas.h.i.+ng against each other echoed throughout the area. A distinct crack line, which was obvious to the eye had appeared on the spot that sustained the hit. However, the crack rapidly healed and vanished without a trace.

That was the effect of "Terramorph" on the boss' metalized skin. Its Physical Defense had increased tremendously, but the Savage Berserker did not seem to pay any attention to that at all. His speed was extremely fast as he continued to swing his sword down upon his target, giving it several consecutive blows. Not only that, but his precision was also shockingly accurate. His strikes. .h.i.t the exact same spot, again and again, having completely blasted more cracks into the rocky surface of the Stygianlock Centiking's body and shattering it into pieces…

The a.s.saults of the Elementalists and Bowmasters became much more ferocious at the same time!

FireG.o.d's Fury! Frost Torrent! Lightning Blade! Underworld Wisp! Star Rage! Great Earth Roar!

Tier 4 Elemental Magic and a few Tier 4 Arrow Skills were launched simultaneously as furious cries were heard echoing amid the air of battle. The body of the Stygianlock Centiking was bombarded with attacks as the furious cries continued to rumble in the air. Under the continuous tremors, the sound of a loud burst rang suddenly throughout the surroundings as if something had been completely shredded! The barrier that covered the Stygianlock Centiking's body had been forcefully broken and shattered, leaving no trace behind.

"Good!"

The Savage Berserker revealed a contented expression on his face. He only managed to shout a word before the Stygianlock Centiking rapidly lashed at him with its tail. Along with the sound of a solid hit, the Savage Berserker was sent flying straight in a horizontal direction. Four Beastblood Berserkers who were the closest to him had also suffered the same fate as he did.

The six players in the rear did not dare be negligent as they swiftly stepped in and intercepted the Stygianlock Centiking once again…

The Stygianlock Centiking repeatedly hissed in rage. But it seemed that it could not do anything about the meat s.h.i.+elds before its eyes. The players' attacks once again rained down on it. This time, without the protection of its barrier, the Stygianlock Centiking's HP bar began to rapidly decline at a rate several times faster than before.

The Savage Berserker who was sent flying had already gotten back on his feet. However, he did not reenter the battlefield like the other Beastblood Berserkers. After giving the battlefield a quick glance, he swiftly gulped down a bottle of HP Potion. Then, he asked the Bandit who was standing next to him, "Have you gathered all the herbs?"

"The herbs in these two points have been obtained—" When the Bandit said that, the Savage Berserker swiftly tightened his brows in a frown of dissatisfaction and interrupted the Bandit. "Four of you have only managed to gather the herbs from two points after three minutes?"

The Bandit smiled bitterly as he explained. "No, we have no idea why the herbs in the other two points are no longer there."

"You're saying that the herbs have been stolen by those several Bandits who sneaked in?" A cold glimpse of light flashed across the Savage Berserker's eyes as he recalled a group of Bandits entering Centipede Cavern before anyone else.

The Bandit nodded as though he was thinking about something. "They should be the ones who did it. I've heard that all four points have sp.a.w.ned the herbs two rounds back, so, it's not probable that there's an exception for today…"

"Hmph." The Savage Berserker narrowed his eyes as he sneered. "I thought they were all dead. Never expected there to be a fish that got away from the net…" Upon saying this, his tone mellowed out once again.

"Go and gather the Violetjade Fruit then. Don't let anyone else grab the opportunity again. If you discover those Bandits again… kill them!"
