When Lu Zhaoyang returned home, she found that Huo Yunting hadn’t returned. That perked her up. It would be even better if he did not come home tonight.

After dinner, when Lu Zhaoyang was done showering and was about to go to bed, she got a call from her mother.

“Yang Yang, how are you doing? Are you well?” Xue Yuming sounded normal. It had been awhile since the incident, and she had finally calmed herself.

“I’m fine. How about you and dad?”

Huo Zhenning was raging like a bull last time.

“We’re doing alright. How is your brother? I see that you two are enjoying yourselves in the news.”

Xue Yuming was standing at the balcony, enjoying the cool night breeze by herself at the moment.

“I’m his secretary. I don’t talk to him much outside of work. Eating together is only part of the job. I don’t know how he’s doing now.”

Lu Zhaoyang answered carefully, unwilling to say more than necessary.

Her relations.h.i.+p with Huo Yunting must be kept secret at all cost.

“You are siblings, both living in the city. You should take care of each other, alright?”

There was a moment of silence on the phone, but when Xue Yuming started speaking again, she heard an abrupt and terrifying sound!

Bang! The door was forced open. Huo Yunting stumbled in, his fair skin now blus.h.i.+ng from drunkenness. The smell of alcohol invaded the room.

“Yang Yang, you should advice… What was that sound? Yang Yang?” Xue Yuming heard the slam of the door as well and cried out worriedly.

“It’s nothing. I dropped my phone. Mum, my phone’s battery is draining, bye now…”

Just as she finished, Huo Yunting s.n.a.t.c.hed her phone away and hurled it to the ground.

Lu Zhaoyang stared at him coldly and kept quiet. What’s with him, getting so drunk and acting violent?

The screen darkened, and a visible crack split it into two. He had thrown the phone quite forcefully.

Xue Yuming heard the dial tone ringing. She frowned and returned to her room.

By then, Lu Zhaoyang was leaning against the bed headboard, with Huo Yunting laying beside her. His right hand circled around her waist through the blanket, holding tightly onto her.

He turned his bright red face to her and studied her with an unreadable look for half a minute before slowly speaking up, “Lu Zhaoyang, who are you to me?”

“If you are testing my memory, I think it is not necessary.”

She remembered clearly every word that defined their relations.h.i.+p.

Huo Yunting pulled strongly with his right arm to make her lie down on bed. He rolled over to press himself on top of her.

“Answer me!”

Lu Zhaoyang thought the alcohol smell was foul and wanted to turn away, but his hands went swiftly to both sides of her face and held her firmly to face him.
