“I’m telling the truth! I know nothing about this, I’m just a nominal legal ent.i.ty. It was my brother’s idea, he asked me to submit the proposal, I never really agreed to it! He told me to have a try, so maybe we could get that project to apply for a loan so we’ll be able to expand our company!”

Sun Yan probably never expected the proposal would involve the dark knight of the market. Logically speaking, if he knew it was a proposal by Thunderbolt Corp., he would have dropped the proposal into the Recycle Bin, emptied it and set his laptop on fire.

“You can get lost now,” mumbled Huo Li with laptop under his arms as he left the meeting room.

“Well, your brother sounded more ambitious than you do,” said Lu, remained seated.

“He’s just a wild thinker. Never practical. Calling days off as he wished. We don’t even have a proper office for our company. Now to think of it, it’s not even an official company in the first place! We set it up for fun a long time ago but somehow things happened. Please, Ms. Secretary, please help me to deliver a few kind words to President Huo. I still have a daughter at school, my daughter needs to be fed. I can’t be going to prison!”

Sun Yan pleaded pitifully, he was probably mourning over his horribly unlucky self.

“You may go now.”

Lu could not promise anything since pleading President Huo for an open enemy would cost her life.

Sun Yan was feeling unease when leaving without an affirmation from Ms. Secretary that he would be fine, but the pretty secretary had already scurried from the scene.

Lu went to the President’s Office, upon entry the president’s voice rang mischievously, “And I thought you would agree to plead for him.”

Huo Li was nowhere to be seen at the President’s Office. The devil’s Cerberus probably had gone hunting down Sun Yan’s little brother now.

The mail was sent from a cybercafe. It would be hard to pinpoint the actual sender, moreover, the mail might be sent through a dummy account, even automated to do so on a timer.

In other words, even if Huo raided the cybercafe to check out the security camera, he might never catch a thing. The person might not be the actual culprit even if Huo managed to get somebody.

Nevertheless, Lu could feel that it must be either Huang Dong or Mo Shan.

It was only natural for her to make such a.s.sumption after what Mo Shan had done to her.

“Have you inspected Yu’s PC?” She asked suddenly.

“Come to me and I’ll tell you,” said Huo playfully with his brows lifted. His gaze stripped her.

“My dear president, I regretfully inform you that I am truly occupied today as I am on the inspection of this case from the *inside*.” Her legs remained glued on the floor, with a brief eyeroll as she wondered why she even stepped into his office before.

“Leave the job to somebody else. Your job now is to have a serious thought about lifting your skirts further…”

Lin has a good taste in fas.h.i.+on but Lu wears it better. Man, those fair white legs rubbing before me, I can’t…

Lu squinted her eyes in disdain, ignoring his s.e.xually hara.s.sing remark as she glanced at the wave of doc.u.ments across the table, none of them which the president had actually reviewed ever since she started working there.

The president switched on his computer to check out the meeting room through the security camera.

It was empty.

“I think what you need more is to develop a robot that could help you sign these doc.u.ments so the company could actually operate.”

“What are you talking about? Aren’t you that robot to do the job for me?” Said Huo as he leaned against his throne, gesturing her, “Come over here.”

“If there’s anything, I’ll be at my desk.” And Lu ran for her life to the outside world.
