There was no response from his woman, only a few soft cracks coming from her knuckles holding the chopsticks.

“Sister knows best.” He smiled, “Not forgetting to pick more husbands on the road, just like your mother. I am so *impressed*.”

The chopsticks snapped before they fell onto the ground.

Huo Yunting, on the successful attempt of enraging the beast, straightened his back as he smiled like a jolly knight.

“Please get her another pair of chopsticks,” said Huo Chen proactively to the maid.

“I’m fine. I’m done anyway. Enjoy the evening while I’ll be in my room.” Lu quickly wiped her mouth, obviously tired with the dinner.

She had already planned to leave from the beginning. It was merely Huo Yunting’s senseless words that had become the last straw. She frantically got up and scurried from the scene. Huo Chen looked at his beloved running away, with worries in his eyes.

Madam Xue sighed as she viewed her daughter’s exit, and was particularly astonished by Chen’s concerning stare.
