He was ninety percent certain that Huo Chen and Lu Zhaoyang were not in the car in front of him.

Huo Yunting’s cold voice came through his phone. “Where are you?”

Huo Li reported frankly, “I just left Ranshan Bridge and still have their car in sight, but I don’t think they are in the car now!”

There was a short silence before the call was terminated from the other side.

Huo Li ended the call with a sigh as he continued to chase the car.

He could sense that the current driver was not as skilled as the Second Master. He stepped on the accelerator and swerved his car across to stop horizontally in front of the other car.

Right at that moment, Lu Zhaoyang was now a short-haired lady with a slight tan and brown eyes, courtesy of contact lenses. Aside from her build, she looked like a completely different person.

Huo Chen was right beside her as they made their way smoothly through customs and boarded their flight that was headed for Paris.

Huo Li never would have guessed that they had returned back to the same airport after they switched cars.

The two of them sat in the front row of the first cla.s.s section. There were not many people around them and that made Lu Zhaoyang felt better, but still she dreaded the possibility of Huo Yunting suddenly bursting into the place.

Her tiny hand was suddenly enveloped in a large and warmer hand. Lu Zhaoyang looked at her hand, and then at Huo Chen with a forced smile.

“Don’t worry, we’re safe now.” Huo Chen comforted her, knowing how afraid she was.

Huo Chen’s voice was always able to build confidence in her.

She exhaled quietly and felt herself calming down. At this point, worrying would not help.

Leaving this place forever was better for her. She deserved a choice.

“Thank you, Chen.”

There was so much more that she wanted to say, but none of them made it past her lips.

Even if they were together now, their future was…

She was no longer the Lu Zhaoyang he once knew. Besides, she was married.

There was no future for them.

Once all the pa.s.sengers had boarded, the cabin door closed shut. Lu Zhaoyang finally relaxed.

There was no way Huo Yunting could be here now.

Huo Chen turned to her and said gently, “The flight is twelve hours long. Rest, and try not to worry so much. It’s all over now.”
