She knew that Lu Zhaoyang had returned. She also knew that Huo Chen was punished according to his family laws and then sent back to the military before daybreak.

She was giddy just thinking about it and could not hide the smile on her face when she knocked on Huo Yunting’s office door.

New Year was approaching and the company was swarmed with work. Even Huo Yunting had to put in some hours these days.

Mo Shan entered his office and greeted him softly, “Brother Yunting…”

Huo Yunting heard her as he continued going through some doc.u.ments. He kept his head low, but his lips curled into an almost imperceptible smile.

He was impressed by the woman in front of him. After all, she had gone to investigate Lu Zhaoyang and Huo Chen, and then exposed their story to the Huo family.

Now, she dared to show her face at his office as though she was innocent.

Since Huo Yunting did not react, Mo Shan thought he was too absorbed in his work. She walked closer toward him.

“Since your sister is not here and it’s almost New Year, why don’t you let me stay and help you out?”

Huo Yunting finally reacted. He twirled his pen and looked sideways at her. “I have many secretaries. They did just fine in Lu Zhaoyang’s absence, and they will continue to do fine.”

“No need.” Huo Yunting looked impatient. “If you’re bored, you can consider starting a ma.s.sage centre by the blind. Business will be booming, so don’t keep yourself limited to me.”

Mo Shan’s smile turned awkward, but she continued the conversation.

She understood what Huo Yunting was trying to say — that she had bad taste in things.
