He brushed his lips lightly against her earlobe, following its elegant curves. His warm breath into her ear made her feel itchy.

“No, I did not sleep with him. It was just a joke.”

Lu Zhaoyang came clean. As expected, she was no match for him.

Once, her only weakness before him was her mother. Now, there was also Chen to consider. It was impossible for them to be together and she did not want to ruin his future any further.

Lu Zhaoyang’s reply came softly into his ears. He should be happy because of it, but instead he got angry.

“As long as you are happy.” She saw no delight in him. His eyes were staring daggers at her.

Huo Yunting let her lower jaw go. He twirled a few loose strands of her hair gently and said, “You should rest early tonight.”

After that, he turned and left.

All the tension in her was gone in an instant. She did not expect him to let her go. She pulled her arms back from the door frame and watched him disappear from view.

Then, she entered her bedroom and shut the door.

After they left, the secretary office exploded in a commotion.
