“Take care of my mother.” Huo Yunting spoke to the caretakers in the house before leaving the place.

Qiu Ran continued watching TV. When she heard the car engine running, she immediately stood up and headed for her room upstairs.

“Ma’am, how can I help you?” A maid asked her anxiously.

“I’m going to bed!”

Qiu Ran replied without looking at her as she went straight to her bedroom. Once inside, she locked the doors and started rummaging in her wardrobe panickedly.

She panted heavily as she searched and finally took out a white bottle of pills. She took one out and swallowed it dry.

When the effects finally kicked in, she shut her eyes and sat down on the floor, breathing evenly.

It was all an act.

Her condition had not improved at all. During the past days when Huo Yunting was here, she had to take her pills in secret…

He took off his jacket and marched eagerly toward her.

“I shower every night. It has nothing to do with you.”

She turned back to return to her bedroom and ignored Huo Yunting.
