She went to him and covered a blanket from waist to feet before heading to the other end of the room to open the window for better ventilation.

The spring breeze hushed as it sneaked into the room curiously with the grooving curtains.

Under better lighting she scanned the table next to the bed where cigarette b.u.t.ts and empty wine bottles were scattered. She grasped her collars in sympathy and agony for this man with a broken heart.

She walked back to the bed, bent down, “Huo Yunting, are you awake?”

The man rolled to the other side.

Lu Zhaoyang sighed, taking it as him saying, “No, I’m not. Go away.” She pulled the blanket over his body, “Well, sleep a bit longer then.” She began cleaning up his room, every bottle was picked with extreme caution, every step was made under her watch, fearing that a single careless mistake would disturb her man.

After throwing the rubbish away, she walked back to the bed as the man suddenly got up from his bed and headed straight into the bathroom with the bathrobe on the rack.

Lu Zhaoyang, being ignored as he pa.s.sed by, asked, “Are you having the food here or downstairs?”

There was no response from the man.

“Okay then. I’ll a.s.sume that you’re muted and do things my way,” she mumbled as she started tidying up the bed as well.

Doing something for him with my own hands is still better than doing nothing at all in a situation like this.

Her little mumbo jumbo was overheard by the man who held his step inside the bathroom.
