Lu Zhaoyang did not linger and soon drove back to her own apartment.

When she was close to home, she noticed Lu Bai standing outside the apartment compound, just beyond the CCTV range. He was carrying a bag of groceries.

Lu Zhaoyang wound down her window hurriedly and said to him, “Get in the car!”

Lu Bai smiled harmlessly and got into the back seat.

“Sis, look what I bought you!”

“Why are you here? You could be caught!”

Both Huo Yunting and Huo Chen could have had measures in place around her apartment. She quickly drove to her parking lot.

“Don’t worry. I came to cook for you since you looked a little down yesterday. I dare say I’m an excellent cook.”

Lu Bai said as he followed Lu Zhaoyang out of the car. She had parked in a secluded corner for his safety.

They avoided the CCTV cameras as they moved.

“Alright, you’re already here anyway. I’ll accept your kindness and let you cook for us tonight.”

After they entered her apartment, Lu Zhaoyang shut the door and locked it immediately. “The kitchen is straight ahead, you should find everything you need there. Let me know if you need help.”

“Okay. Take a rest while I cook, I should be done in a jiffy!”

Lu Bai made his way to the kitchen.

Having nothing else to do, Lu Zhaoyang soaked in the bathtub after her long day at work and only emerged after a long while.

There were already a few dishes served on the dining table. They looked tantalizing and almost certainly delicious.

“I didn’t know you cook so well. Whoever married you in future is in for a treat.”

“I was bored at home, so I thought of watching some videos online to learn how to cook.”

He could not differentiate between a pot from a pan before this venture.

“Wow, good job, bro!” Lu Zhaoyang picked up her chopsticks eagerly and took her seat.

This was the first time they had a meal together without anyone else. She had been occupied with a lot of negative thoughts recently and needed a break.

Dinner was pleasant and blissful. The tasty dishes distracted her from her worries.

The food also reminded her of Huo Yunting. Was he having his meal too?

“I’m done, thank you.” She put down her chopsticks and decided to make a call to check on the man.

“Mr Butler, hi, what is Huo Yunting doing now?”

“Sir is away. He left shortly after you were gone and has not returned.”

He’s not at home?

She started heading toward the door. “Do you know where he went?”

“I… I did not think it’d be appropriate to ask.”

“Please call me back when he is home,” she said as she opened the door. She then turned to Lu Bai and said, “I’m going out for a bit, just lock the door behind you when you leave.”

Lu Bai was busy clearing the table. He nodded and said, “Sure, leave it to me.”

She left hastily and tried to call Huo Yunting on her way down to her car.

He did not answer!

Why was he always trying to make her worry?

If he was not at home at this hour, he must surely be outside indulging in unhealthy activities. She could not let him destroy himself that way.

She sped to his usual place, the Golden City, and went straight to his preferred private room.

“Oh, the new lady’s gorgeous!”

When she stepped into the room, a heavily drunk man eyed her lecherously and tried to grope her.

“Out of my away!” She would not waste time with losers like him.

“You’re a feisty one! I like it…”

He extended his arms and tried to touch her again.

Lu Zhaoyang slapped his hands away and walked around him to go further inside the room.

There were a few men and women sitting around in the room, which was choked with heavy smell of perfume and alcohol. Even so, she immediately spotted the man who was sitting in a corner moodily and nursing a drink — Huo Yunting.
