Outside the delivery room of Was.h.i.+ngton’s top maternity hospital, Huo Chen was pacing back and forth anxiously.

“The baby is healthy.” Huo Chen saw her reaction and could not help but laugh. He helped her up to lean on the headboard. “Are you tired?”

Lu Zhaoyang shook her head and stroked her belly, which had now turned into a flat tire. She felt a little at a loss.

“Chen, have you seen the baby, is it healthy? Boy or girl? Does it look like me or… him?” Lu Zhaoyang suddenly paused and then held his arm anxiously.

“It is a boy. He cries loudly and looks full of beans. But since he has just been born, he still looks like a wrinkled little monkey.” Huo Chen patiently answered her questions. “The nurse is feeding him now, and she will bring him here in a bit.”

“As long as he is healthy.” Lu Zhaoyang breathed a sigh of relief and slowly let go of his hand. She was a mother now.

“Come here, eat something. You need to regain your strength.” Huo Chen took the hot porridge in his hands.

Lu Zhaoyang was exhausted now, and she was surprisingly hungry. She had to fill her stomach and regain her strength only then she could hold her baby.

“One thing that I have never told you is that we found a suitable cornea two months ago. Unfortunately, it could only be transplanted to one of your eyes. Since you were pregnant then, the transplantation had to be postponed until after the delivery.”
