The hushes of rain surrounded their ears when they exited the isolated s.p.a.ce of their car after parking it up a winding road. A quick walk to scout the area and they picked a tiny slope nearby for their ambush. Hiding behind rustling bushes, they were holding guns as well as their breaths.

The gale was howling as rains fell upon their eyes. More dark clouds gathered as the storm brewed stronger. Thunder was booming in their ears yet their heartbeats rang louder.

About 10 minutes later, a flock of cars came into sight from the other end of the horizon.

Both their muscles tightened as they stared upon the cars cautiously—it was a surprise plot twist to them.

Like really, it’s just an escort of a person. Do you need three cars?

The cars took a severe brake before a military men charged out of the cars.

The shots were returned from the surrounding.

They were ambushed? Wen He speculated as she watched half of the men fall down to the ground. Their blood tarnished the wet ground.

Eventually, the shooting stopped. Wen He beamed at Lu Bai before they sprinted to the back of a truck in the center. Ol’ Jiu must be there! Wen He opened the backdoor with the gun in her grip. And the moment she heard the hammer striking from within, she lifted her gun. Lu Bai did not imagine the scenario of Ol’ Jiu being seized by another party. Wen He and a formally-dressed man pointed their guns at each other. They froze.

The shooting was intensive. That’s why we didn’t make our move. I never thought there would be another party coming for Ol’ Jiu from the other end of the slope.

“I’m sorry but we will handle this from now on,” said Qin An as he got off the back of the truck with two men holding Ol’ Jiu floundering in the ropes.

“State your price,” said Wen He.

I don’t know this man and I don’t believe that a stranger would save an escorted criminal for nothing.

Qin An looked through both of them with his eyes falling upon Lu Bai lastly.

“h.e.l.lo, sir.” He beamed at Lu Bai, “I never do business with a woman. How about we have a decent conversation, man to man? Up to you.”

Lu Bai was checking out Ol’ Jiu who seemed to have shed off a few pounds. His face was more chiselled yet his ominousness and fearlessness retained. He was a man who danced around the shoulder of the Reaper. It was good enough for him to be able to live till the day he could meet his brother again.

“Ol’ Jiu! Is this the time to laugh?” Roared Wen He.

“Should I cry instead?” Ol’ Jiu looked at the Qin An’s back, “Hey, pimp. If you are going to kill me, you can ask your man to do it now. We need no conversation!”

His words were ignored as Qin An walked towards Lu Bai and gave a friendly smile, “If you would come with me,” he invited.

“Motherf*cker, how dare you ignore me? Bai, don’t give a f*ck to what he said!” Said Ol’ Jiu on the top of his lungs. Lu Bai was panting as he first glimpsed at Wen He’s back in front of the armed man, then had a look at Ol’ Jiu still screaming while grinding his teeth. “What do you think?” Qin An’s voice led Lu Bai back to him.

His lips were quivering as he looked through each person again and again with their words echoing in his mind.

What should I do? I can’t just let everything happen. I’m here to save Ol’ Jiu, so I’ll-
