She had to burst into a small jog before she could keep up with his pace and as she turned back to look at the pale Xue Yuming, she sighed.

She just hope that Uncle Huo would consider their time as husband and wife to be not too harsh.

The people in the hall dispersed as the two left. The originally raucous atmosphere turned chilly.

Huo Zhenning glanced coldly at Xue Yuming, “Your vileness sends chills down my spine. I’m sorry, I probably will not be able to allow you to live here any longer. Men, send her to the Starfruit Manor in the suburbs. Don’t let her out without my express permission!”

Xue Yuming had originally calmed down a little after Huo Yunting had left, but now she was strung up again!

And by the looks of things, it was the exact opposite.

She stole a glance at Huo Yunting. She saw him with his eyes shut and seemingly asleep.

She then took a deep breath, lamenting how the karmic cycle was real.

“If you want to thank me, give me a kiss, I do enjoy one.”

He was not asleep and had simply shut his eyes until a bare sliver opening to take measure of her dejected expression.

And when her gaze landed on him, his sleepiness was all gone.

“You think the things she had used you for was just the ones today? No, there’s much more.”

But he did not want to bring it up.

“Even if there was, I don’t want to hear it. It’s probably impossible for us to be have a normal familial relations.h.i.+p any longer, but I hope she would live on.”

When a familial relations.h.i.+p had been used and exhausted, all that was left was just duty.

“Want to have dinner together?”
