Chapter 648: Huo Yunting’s Arrangements

“Okay, I understand!”
At that moment, back in the office, Lu Zhaoyang sneezed.
She looked at the time and decided to call her son to check things out.
“Yangyang, are you finished with your work?” Xuxu’s young and innocent voice came through the speaker. “I’m at a dessert shop with Uncle Yunting, we’re buying you a chocolate cake —”
The boy looked up at his tall uncle as he spoke. Abruptly, he realized something and put a hand over his mouth. Regret flashed in his eyes.
He had told his mother about their surprise by accident! Oh no!
“Thank you dear. Listen to Uncle Yunting and don’t leave his side.”
Lu Zhaoyang smiled weakly. No wonder they were not back yet.
“I will!” Xuxu ended the call and pulled at Huo Yunting’s pants despondently. “Uncle, how about we change to strawberry flavour?”
Huo Yunting sympathized with his conundrum. He picked the boy up and chuckled at his proposed solution.
“Don’t worry, we’ll buy both.”

Lu Zhaoyang finally got off from work at seven in the evening. Huo Yunting had called her earlier to inform her that he was sending Xuxu straight to his house!
She had no choice but to go to his place.
Huo Yunting had invited them for dinner before.
However, she had slipped away before they entered the house last time.
As she drove her way to his mansion, a bright crescent moon rose slowly to the starry night sky.
The gate to the mansion opened up to her. She honked to signal them before she parked her car.
“Yangyang! Yangyang is here!”
The little boy dashed out of the house to greet his mother.
She stepped out of her car and smiled at her son. The little boy’s happiness was like a balm to her scars from work.
Huo Yunting stepped out of the house in plain clothes. He watched as Lu Zhaoyang greeted her son with a bright smile.
If only she smiles at me like that too, he wondered to himself.
“Xuxu, say goodbye to Uncle Huo, we have to go now.” She noticed that her son was wearing a different set of clothes and not the one that he wore out of the house that morning.
“Yangyang, we’re waiting for you to have dinner together!” Xuxu pulled at her hand like a spoiled child. “Let’s go!”
Do you really think we can leave after having dinner with Huo Yunting?

Lu Zhaoyang could see how meticulous Huo Yunting had planned for this. She would probably have to stay in his house for the night.
“Are you really so scared of me?” Huo Yunting walked to them leisurely. “Come on in. Dinner is served, and I’ve switched all the servants.”

Lu Zhaoyang pursed her lips and looked at him as she considered her options.
Since he had prepared everything so elaborately, it would be unreasonable and even arrogant of her to reject his offer.
The three of them entered the house together. There was a medium-sized dining table in the dining room.
The table was slightly s.p.a.cious for two but a cozy fit for a family of three. Dinner had a very homey feeling.
Lu Zhaoyang relaxed when she noticed how excited Xuxu was at dinner and treated Huo Yunting more gently than usual.
When the time felt right, Huo Yunting said, “I’ve promised your son that I will teach him swimming. Why don’t you stay here for the night?”
Swimming?
Lu Zhaoyang looked to her son, who nodded solemnly. The boy looked hopeful but also nervous, afraid that his mother would not agree to the arrangement.
