While at the same time, Wen He was bored out of her mind in her room that she actually decided to look at cooking recipes. Even she herself felt she was going crazy in her boredom.

As she was half-way through, she heard footsteps outside.

“You’re back, why so early today? I’m not done cooking yet!” She smiled as he walked in. “It’s those food stuff your friends sent over, how did they know I was looking into cooking lately?”

Huo Chen stopped, slightly dazed, at the moment she poked her head out of the kitchen. He thought he saw Yangyang.

And the moment she spoke, his senses returned to him.

“I don’t know.” He walked to the bathroom.

Wen He sighed for a little. She knew that while he have said that he had let it go. He was still conflicted inside or else why would he torture the new recruits this time around.

Someone even came to her in secret to complain!

She looked at the boiling pot of soup before her. Was this a bribe so that she would speak for them?

Very quickly Huo Chen came out from the bathroom and Wen He was still cutting veges in the kitchen. As she was not used to this, her progress was excrutiatingly slow.

After changing into a simple house garb, he went into the kitchen and looked at the messy stove.

“You….probably could work with a gun, a knife, forget about it.”

“I can do work with a knife. Don’t believe me when I say I held my ground against many with a knife?”

“Get up,” He rolled up his sleeve. “Let me.”

“No, don’t you come interrupting me while I’m halfway done, no sense of accomplishment then! Get out!” Wen He gave him a disdainful look as she chased him out of the kitchen.

“I’m worried that the kitchen is beyond cleaning later.” Her cooking was no different than a battle.

“You don’t have to worry. I’ll handle everything!”

While he was not convinced, Huo Chen was in no mood to argue and left the kitchen.

But when Wen He saw the kitchen in its total glorious mess, she started regretting it.

One soup and three dishes, Huo Chen may not believe it, but this was prepared since one in the afternoon, and it was already seven now.

The preparation work itself took about a few hours but the results were still satisfactory.

“The soup tastes good, try it!” Wen He doled him a full bowl of soup.

Huo Chen already seen her drank a small bowl down and was seemingly pleased with herself.Sso he too gave it a taste and it was good.

While the dishes were still much to be desired but compared to the inedible mess a few days ago, this was enough to impress him.

Seeing that he liked it, and had finished it so quickly, Wen He served him another bowl.

“Drink more, you had been doing night exercises these few days, restore your strength a little.”

“When I was gone, you weren’t sleeping?” Huo Chen asked as he looked up.

“I was shocked out of my slumber okay? The moment they shout attention downstairs, I’m already awake.”

With regimented training everyday and not even a proper good night sleep, being an army personnel sure is hard.

After dinner, it was Huo Chen who cleaned up the kitchen in the end.

Wen He had spent the whole day cooking, and was all sticky and sweaty as she carried her sleeping gown into the bathroom and took a hot warm bath.

“Huo Chen, good night. I’m going to sleep first!”
