Huo Chen took out his military coat and sat on the sofa. He closed his eyes to rest.
The auntie did not notice the glint of fatigue in his eyes. She went back to the kitchen while mumbling.
“She had asked me to buy more ingredients yesterday, said wanting to learn how to cook, and also that you were worn out for these past few days, and needed something nouris.h.i.+ng. How come when you had came home today, she’s not around instead?”

Huo Chen pursed his lips as an unknown frustration flashed past his mind.
He got up and prepared to leave.

Auntie poked her head out again, and said, “There are fruits on the tea table, Madam asked me to buy them.”

He stood before it for a moment, before pus.h.i.+ng it open, a creak followed before he was presented with a dark room.
A cold empty room with a familiar scent.
His eyes glimmered as he walked towards the window.
He had not known when the pot of daffodil was placed before the originally empty tall window. It was swaying with the wind.
Huo Chen placed his right hand on the frame and laid against the veranda.
He crossed his leg and looked up at the night sky. It was a quiet night, a night full of glittering and bright stars.
Bzzt bzzt bzzt
His handphone rang.
“h.e.l.lo.”
“Sir,” Song Shou on the other side said, “Miss had been sent to the temporary cell in the underground chamber, you don’t have to worry, I’ve gotten someone to send her blankets.”
“Okay.”
Huo Chen was just about to cut the line but was stopped by Song Shou.
“There’s something else?”
“That…” He hesitated. “Commander Yang clearly does not intend to let her go, if this continues, things might get dangerous for her.”
“And?”
“I…”
Song Shou did not know what to say. Even if Sir wanted to save her, he was helpless in this situation.
He had bystander panic and asked. “Don’t we have any other way? I’m sure you would not want to see Miss getting done in by the Commander right?”
After a long while, Huo Chen replied. “There is.”
“Ah?” Song Shou was stunned.
A faint smirk appeared on Huo Chen’s face but his gaze was chilly.
He held his hands out and slowly clenched it as if trying to grab onto something. His voice was calm as ever but there was an unmistakable vigor to it.
“You don’t have to worry too much about this, as long if I don’t allow anything to happen to her, nothing will happen to her.”
“Yes sir!”
“You, remember to send her meals. Better ones.”
“….Yes sir!”
Wen He laid on the wooden bed within the cell, tossing and turning as she could not sleep.
“Miss.”
Following a hurried footstep, Song Shou’s voice rang. “I’m here to send you your meal.”
Wen He leap out from the bed and saw Song Shou pa.s.sing a thermos container through the guard rails, snorting reflexively.
“I thought you lot plan to starve me to death here.”
She simply sat on the ground and opened up the container to eat ravenously. As she ate, she asked, “When Huo Chen’s is planning to let me out?”
Song Shou paused for a moment, “Might take a while.”
“A while?”
Wen He looked at him, and sneered. “He doesn’t plan to let me out does he?”
“Ugh….”
Song Shou did not respond.
Every corner of this place was monitored and if he had let slip something that could affect sir’s plans, then it will be all over.
