“I—I see…” Wen He was intrigued but she did not inquire further, “Well, okay, just pick me up at my place on that day. I got to go.”
“Alright.” Gu Jin watched her leaving the room as he lit a cigarette for himself. The flickering flame shone upon his cold expression and he took a deep breath.

Soon, Friday arrived and Gu Jinzhi arrived by Wen He’s apartment promptly.
Taking it as a rather simple even unimportant function, Wen He just picked a green long dress from her wardrobe and walked downstairs. There was disdain in the man’s eyes when she popped into the car.
“h.e.l.lO, Ma’am, we are going to a business function. Can you at least get properly dressed?”
Wen He shrugged, “This looks proper enough to me. How am I underdressed?”
Gu Jinzhi decided not to argue with her. Instead, he drove the car to a rather premium-looking salon and dragged her all the way to the chair, “What are you doing, Gu Ji-”
“SHH!” And he ordered the best hairstylist to do everything.
Wen He’s hair was dyed, permed and combed. They even gave a gold fitting fishtail skirt with a majestic tail dragging over the floor. Gu Jinzhi snickered, “Meh, I knew you fit a better dress.”
Wen He took a good look at herself in the mirror. It was awkward—very awkward.
The outfit was no-doubt stunning but she felt overdressed by then.
“Let’s go.” And they arrived by a manor located somewhere rather remote, far away from the heart of the city.
It was a s.p.a.cious manor, a typical one imagined solemn like a palace in British history, that even the gate was uniquely designed.
A row of exquisite cars had already been parked outside the gate. No one was waiting by the door to greet the guests.
They were apparently late.
