It was a brilliant proposal from Gu Jinzhi as Wen He’s eyes enlarged with interests. “One more thing…” Gu Jinzhi sneered with a nasty plot in his mind, “Country T seems to have gained the advantage of this war by occupying the escape path. Well—if we blew it up, I wonder what will happen to them?”

“Gu Jinzhi!” Wen He shrieked with a soft squeak as she pounced upon him to give a hug, “You are a genius!”

The man coughed and muttered, “I do enjoy your lead in the intimacy but please be gentle. I’m *weak* after all.”

“…” Never once Wen He imagined such a comeback from the war prince. She said as she scratched her head, “I promise I’ll never look down on you again.”

He’s a genius. A man of strategies, whose mind is filled with tactics that controls the world like a magician!

Once they had formulated a plan, they headed back to the standing soldiers by the side. “We can’t do that,” said one of the soldiers as they did receive Huo Chen’s order to escort them and not a.s.sist. Orders from the superior were supreme and final in the military. They must not go against it.

“Listen…” Wen He then a.n.a.lyzed the situation with Gu Jinzhi’s tips coming in like the Link’s fairy from Hyrule. She proposed the plan and highlighted the pros that came with it. They eventually were sort of convinced.

They crossed the boundary as they advanced towards the base of Country T afterwards. The base was unguarded as predicted by the mastermind. There were some remaining soldiers but most of them were rookies.

Wen He first asked the soldiers to break into several packs to cause commotion so that the enemies are lured out of the base. While they were exchanging amateur shots and strikes, she sneaked in successfully.

“Wait, Wen He. Take this,” said Gu Jinzhi as he pa.s.sed her a pesticide can which she shook in perplexion.

“What is this?”

“Poison gas.”

“What?” Wen He was bewildered, wondering if the pet.i.te man easily took out a compressed can of deadly gas like the robot cat from the future. He placed a gas mask in her hand after that, “Remember to put on this when you use the gas. The gas can kill everybody in an enclosed s.p.a.ce like the base.”

Wen He gulped in caution as she glanced at him, “Your family might be a good force in warfield weaponry if your family didn’t work in the medical field in the first place.”

Gu Jinzhi chuckled knowing that every industry had its own dark side.

If the medical field could create drugs that save humankind, so can they produce threatening venom.

She tiptoed her way into the base with a gun and a can up her sleeves.

She walked past a corridor and tumbled quickly across the security camera with her mask on. The moment she heard footsteps, she released the gas.

Men fell one after another as the colorless gas of bitter almond wafted through the air. As the s.p.a.ce was enclosed, they could barely breathe and scream.

Wen He was once a professional killer after all as she eliminated a handful of soldiers while remaining hidden. Her motive for intruding the base was simple—to find out where the armory and food storage were and eliminate both of them. The funny thing was—she found a self-destruct switch at the base. She wondered if its existence was a help or a potential obstacle for the army itself, considering how it could be used to wipe out all the important doc.u.ments at once should the base was intruded while also being an easy one-tap annihilation that would save Wen He a lot of effort.

Despite that, it was still a better option than losing both the base and their own top secret information.
