MMO: Pierce Heaven Til' It Breaks Chapter 193 - Murloc Boss

Within the underwater world, Atlantis, the ancient ruins were laid out in all its glory for Li Yi to take in. The murlocs here were not in ma.s.sive numbers but their levels peaked at Level 55 and amongst them were a few elite and chief murlocs. There was also Allofor, an oversized murloc boss on guard duty at the central region of the ancient ruins.

Li Yi circled the ancient ruins to farm monsters. Once he was done embracing the full glory of the ruins, he obtained the Ancient City Trailblazer t.i.tle, earning him a Hall of Fame record.

In King of Pantheon, there were many ways to achieve a Hall of Fame record. It was not limited to simply farming monsters. Taking the Lifestyle cla.s.s as an example, a player who could refine a purple-colored item would achieve a Hall of Fame record but this record could not be repeated. The same event would only be accounted for the first time.

Treasures were bountiful in the ancient city ruins. The greedy murlocs loved h.o.a.rding all manner of s.h.i.+ny things; similar to magpies. It did not matter whether it was sc.r.a.ps of gla.s.s or real pearls, they were all there. Although Li Yi did not loot the murlocs corpses’, he never left a treasure chest unturned. He opened all he could and obtained many goodies that amounted to a total worth of at least 30,000 Gold Coins.

The average level between players was not high. Hence, equipment repair was not costly neither were potions or scrolls as they did not garner much use outside of Dungeons. This caused the ratio of Gold Coins and RMB to plummet 5:1. 5,000 Gold Coins was equivalent to RMB1,000. A ma.s.s difference from the previous 1:1 ratio previously.

Li Yi went about things differently from the other players, when many were busy cas.h.i.+ng out their Gold Coins, he was busy tossing out his items to make more Gold Coins. He sold anything that could be sold to build his Gold Coin pile.

As one who had the chance to reset his life, Li Yi was in the know. The Gold Coin ratio in King of Pantheon would soon return to the previous 1:1 in no time. At that point, collecting Gold Coins would become a much tougher task.

Shoot at Random paired with Mermaid Princess had Li Yi swerving effortlessly past the murloc army. Elite murlocs and chief murlocs were all defeated within a matter of moments.

Underwater Remnants map was home to a Level 55 secret dungeon. The entrance was just beneath the throne guarded by the murloc boss, Allofor. Entry to the dungeon was simple, one only needed to defeat Allofor and obtain the Tidal key that he held.

Allofor was a Level 55 boss with only 300,000 HP. He was proficient in attacking his opponents with an array of weakening curses. In an act of fury, he would begin his pursuit of his opponents with 260% SPD coupled with vicious a ATK. Li Yi’s current HP of less than 3,000 stood no chance to sustain even one hit.

Though his HP was not much, Allofor, a descendant of the Ancient-level murloc was revered. At the start of a battle, he would unleash two buffs that could not be dispersed. The first buff was establis.h.i.+ng connections between his and all other murlocs souls in nearby waters. No matter how high the damage that was inflicted onto him, it would be transferred over to the murloc underlings while he remained unscathed.

The second buff was called Murloc’s Core Protection. Should Allofor’s HP be emptied out within twenty minutes, it would regenerate to full. In other words, players were unable to kill it within that twenty minutes.

The nearby murlocs in the waters were at least 10,000 in numbers. If players wiped out the murlocs beforehand, Allofor would then make his escape and would not engage in battle with the players.

The best way to go about it was to leave one or two murlocs alive but have them killed while in battle with Allofor. This way, Allofor would not attempt to run away.

Li Yi’s motive to come to Underwater Remnants was simple. He never thought about beating Allofor but as his Shoot at Random skill had been enhanced, he was getting faster and faster in killing murlocs. It was only a matter of time before all the murlocs around Allofor would be cleared out.

One’s own destiny lies in their own hands, it would be their decision to seize the moment or let it slip. Seeing the murloc boss slacking off at the throne, Li Yi was tempted.

Tidal Throne dungeon was a treasure minefield. To top it off, there was also a mount waiting to be snagged. Now that he cleared up all the murlocs around Allofor, how could he not be swayed?

Li Yi left out one murloc underling before engaging Allofor in battle.

As he was underwater, the land pets could not stay for long, so he had to rely on his own strength for this battle.

“Allofor loves food that can run away the most.”

Allofor puffed up his gills and spurted out a water stream at Li Yi. This move would be amplified based on the number of enemies surrounding Allofor. The number of enemies would determine the number of water streams spurted.

“Evade to the right, float upwards!”

Li Yi grabbed on Mermaid Princess’ silky hair, evading Allofor’s water stream attack with finesse. He then turned to shoot two arrows to take out the last murloc underling.

“Not good. Allofor’s unrivaled magic is gone! This… This treacherous human.” Allofor suddenly let out a yelp, glancing to the left and right in panic.

With the soul connection buff out of the way, Li Yi was ready to go all out and relying on Mermaid Princess to swiftly avoid attacks, there was no way Allofor stood a chance. With his full body of uber legendary equipment paired with his technique, Allofor could not lay a finger on him. His HP was still full when 100,000 of Allofor’s HP was taken off.

Feeble Spell, Plodding Spell, Water Maggot Spell. Curses were being tossed out one after another and due to Allofor’s curses not being a dodgeable mechanic, Li Yi had no choice but to take them.

Hit with at least ten negative states, black energy emitted over his body. There was a constant deduction of HP appearing on his head. His movements too had been slowed down.

Li Yi did not lift these curses and waited until Allofor tossed out the strongest curse, You’re a Murloc. At the start of a 2-second delay, he unleashed Dark Devour to disperse all negative state.

[You’re a Murloc: 100% hit chance Boss-level skill. It will turn the target into a murloc. There’s a 2-second delay in the transformation process. This state can be dispelled prior to transformation but can’t be dispelled after transformation.]

This move of Allofor had garnered so much hatred from players. The larger the group, the more hectic this move would have been. How could the battle go on when tens of thousands of players that were initially besieging had suddenly transformed into his underlings in a matter of seconds?

Thankfully, this move could only be used once every half an hour, otherwise, Li Yi would have pa.s.sed up the chance to challenge Allofor.

“Uh… Why isn’t Allofor’s magic taking effect? Are Allofor’s powers disappearing? Evil Magic Crystal! Allofor will find a way to crush you.”

With the failure of You’re a Murloc Spell dampening Allofor’s spirits, he shook his head in agony. A 20-second countdown appeared above his head, under such state, players would inflict double the damage on it.

Li Yi would not let this opportunity slip away. With Rapid Shooting activated, he consumed Fury Potion to put his skills on full blast. At the end of the 20 seconds, Allofor’s HP was down to 100,000.

[Warning! Allofor will enter berserk in 5 seconds!]

Allofor’s body grew red as he started huffing and puffing in deep breaths.

Infuriated Allofor would start to pursue his opponents underwater with a 260% SPD increase. Not only was his ATK incredibly powerful at this point, but any successful hit would also transfer his opponent’s HP to himself in an attempt to heal with the Murloc’s Feast skill.

If the regular strategy was followed, at least 50 main tanks would be scattered around, taunting Allofor in turns. Once he started his pursuit, another would immediately taunt. This would go on and he would not be able to lay his hands on anyone until he was defeated. Even the slightest mistake in this strategy would cause Allofor’s HP to regenerate to full.

“Dive back! Surface straight ahead!”

Li Yi’s mount, Mermaid Princess possessed the fastest SPD underwater at 280%. Even without any acceleration special effect, she was faster than Allofor by 20%.

A game of pursuit had begun.

With Mermaid Princess at full speed, Allofor glowing in red and with his tongue out was trying to catch up. It was a shame he was still lacking in speed by just a tad bit. This legendary-level mount lived up to its name. Li Yi was shooting at Allofor as he controlled Mermaid Princess’ movements.

The hardest segment was in fact, the easiest for Li Yi. While playing the cat-and-mouse game, Li Yi quickly managed to reduce Allofor’s HP to around 3,000.

He immediately stopped on a dime. The 20-minutes Murloc’s Core Protection buff was not over. If he was. .h.i.t at this time, his HP would regenerate to full.

Now he just needed to keep running away and wait Murloc’s Core Protection to be over, so he could end it with one last arrow.

“Dammit, Allofor’s the fastest amongst all murlocs. If it’s not for my broken fin, I would be even faster…”

Allofor yelled in fury as he continued in his hot pursuit of Li Yi. He was obviously dissatisfied with its own SPD.

Well, it could not be helped, he could never catch up to Mermaid Princess’ SPD.

After twenty minutes, Murloc’s Core Protection buff had disappeared and Li Yi took out Allofor with Chain Arrow Skill.

“In the next life, Allofor wants to be the fastest murloc…” Allofor breathed his last words.

[Congratulations! You’ve obtained A Creature Faster Than Murlocs achievement.]

[Congratulations! You’ve obtained Refusing Murloc Kisses achievement.]

[Congratulations! You’ve obtained special t.i.tle, Murloc Killer.]

Li Yi swam back to Allofor’s corpse to loot.

Ding!

He obtained two items.

One was the Tidal Key and another was Allofor’s Piggy Bank. Both items were guaranteed drops.

His trash hand was still in effect, huh?

Li Yi smiled bitterly and agreed to publish the System Notification.

Then went the System spamming in red again.

Large fonts in red spammed the screen over and over again but players did not make a big deal out of it.

“I don’t need to take a look at the name to know it’s the doing of the Archer G.o.d. Holy sh*t, that psycho!”

“Who else if not him? Dammit, I’m an Archer too but I can’t even go solo a Wild Boar King. Why the huge gap between us?”

“You don’t have his good looks,” A wise player answered.

“Scram you sh*thead!”
