It was easy to qualify for Blade Peak’s Arena. All a player had to do was to spend 5 Gold Coins and be above level 20.

There were two modes that players could choose during their registration, namely the Open Battle Mode and Level-based Mode.

The Level-based Mode would be released to players who had acc.u.mulated more than 2000 points. Hence the only available mode to the players at this early stage was the Open Battle Mode.

The rules to the Open Battle Mode was simple. Once the players were registered, the System would automatically choose two players among the partic.i.p.ants whose levels were the closest. Players who were victorious would obtain 100 points while the loser would obtain only 10 points.

Although Blade Peak’s Arena had been out for a few days now, it was still not well known among the players. Li Yi was currently Level 60 and the System could not find a player that was close to his level after searching for more than half a day. The System had finally made the call when Unending Unmatched had registered as a partic.i.p.ant.

Unending Unmatched was Level 50. The equipment he had was equal to Li Yi’s. Hence the System’s decision was fairly reasonable.

Li Yi squinted as he sized up Unending Unmatched before letting out a sigh discreetly.

Yang Xingchen that b.a.s.t.a.r.d was willing to invest in him as he had given Unending Unmatched the Blood Lord Equipment Set.

The Blood Lord Equipment Set was the first Epic-Level equipment set for the main tank cla.s.s. It was equivalent to Li Yi’s Devil Hunter Equipment Set. It had an extremely low Crit Rate and its stat was incredibly powerful. It was considered as the best equipment set for the main tank below Level 60.

Two hidden attributes would be activated once a player wore 4 pieces of the Blood Lord equipment, which amounted to the complete Equipment Set.

The first special effect was when Double Retaliation was used and if it gave off a Crit ATK, there would be a small chance that Double Retaliation would be cast once more. This special effect had no CD but it could only be stacked a maximum of two times at once.

The second special effect was that the player would recover 1% of his max HP upon performing two successful blocks in a row.

The Devil Hunter Equipment Set’s special effects were much better as compared to the Blood Lord’s two hidden special effects. This was the universal truth as not only was this applicable to the Archer’s Equipment Set, it was the same for other cla.s.ses T1 Equipment Set. As such, only the main tank’s Blood Lord Equipment Set had the strongest attributes.

In addition to Unending Unmatched’s 4 Blood Lord equipment, the other equipment he possessed was unique as well. Li Yi had estimated that his GS had reached at least 1800.

Li Yi’s GS was 2300 and he was currently Level 60. He was stronger than Unending Unmatched in all aspect. Despite all this, he was not confident in winning against Unending Unmatched as the Blood Lord Equipment Set’s special effects were simply too powerful.

As the battle in the Arena did not account for the equipment’s enhancement, this meant that Li Yi’s +16 equipment was no different from its original attribute. The effect of an equipment was the same regardless if they were enhanced.

Unending Unmatched starting moving towards him. His attacking style was different than those typical Warrior as he did not use Charge to rush towards him. Instead, he relied on his legs to close the distance between them.

Li Yi setup a Frost Trap under his feet as he activated the Spirit Ape’s Protection. Then, he moved around the Frost Trap as he attacked Unending Unmatched.

“Clank! Clank! Clank!”

Unending Unmatched’s usage of Block was incredibly ridiculous as Li Yi was not able to land any hits on him at all. All of his arrows were fended off by him. In addition to that, his speed was incredibly quick as well as the distance between him and Li Yi had closed in.

“F*ck me! It’s the uber legendary item Fiery Boots which grants +7 movement speed.”

Li Yi was shocked as he glanced at Unending Unmatched’s boot.

Li Yi was wearing the Fiery Boots which granted him +5 movement speed but Unending Unmatched had an even better boot than his as he was wearing a +7 movement speed uber legendary Fiery Boots.

As Li Yi leaped backward to disengage, Unending Unmatched activated the Fiery Boot’s special skill, Fire Impact and instantly closed the gapped between him and Li Yi.

“Muscle Rupture!”

“Fire Impact!”

Li Yi activated Fire Impact and ran away before Unending Unmatched’s sword made contact.

He must never fight against a main tank in melee battle unless he had a death wish.

“Charge!”

Unending Unmatched used Charge as he latched onto Li Yi like a shadow.

Archers were naturally at a disadvantage in the arena as there was not a single obstacle in the Arena for them to weave around. It would be very hard to evade the enemy’s attack once the enemy used a Locking Skill. (Note: a Locking Skill is not a Sure Hit Skill)

“Dark Devour!”

The Charge did not worry Li Yi at all, what did keep him on his feet was what would come after which was a Muscle Rupture that would cause his speed to be decreased by 50%, effectively allowing Unending Unmatched to close the gap between them effortlessly.

Li Yi used a special skill to cleanse the stun. At the same time, he leaped and used the Chain Arrow Skill in the mid-air.

Unending Unmatched was in a pinch as Li Yi was able to get above him with his leap, making all his Blocks abilities useless. Despite landing two Frost Arrows square on his back, Li Yi’s luck was not in his favor as both arrows did not activate the freezing effect.

Li Yi swayed himself in the middle of the air as he intended to land behind Unending Unmatched. However at that moment, Unending Unmatched immediately turned around and diverted his s.h.i.+ning s.h.i.+eld towards him.

Li Yi was sent flying eight meters away as if he was a kite that the thread had snapped. Unending Unmatched’s body started glowing gold before Li Yi had even landed onto the ground.

“Hero’s Leap!”

A stream of Gold Light radiated on Unending Unmatched’s body as he leaped forward towards Li Yi who was still falling out of the sky…

The Paladin cla.s.s had two practical range skills, namely Charge and Holy s.h.i.+eld’s Pursuit. On the other hand, the Warrior cla.s.s had two practical range skills as well, which was Charge and Hero’s Leap which allowed players to get close towards their target quickly.

Hero’s Leap: [Aims at your target who’s high up in the sky. Damages the targeted unit while decreasing the movement speed of the target and all enemies within 10 yards by 90%. Effect lasts for 5 seconds Cooldown: 10 minutes.]

The ATK range of the Level 1 Hero’s Leap was 30 yards. 1 yard of distance and 1% of damage would increase with each level increment. As the Hero’s Leap reaches its maximum level of 20, its CD would reduce to 7 minutes as well.

Li Yi was stunned as he was struck by the s.h.i.+eld Bash. This meant that he was unable to evade the Hero’s Leap that followed shortly after.

“Bam!”

Li Yi was struck by Hero’s Leap and the figure -367 appeared on his head. He was no longer stunned but his movement speed had been reduced by 90% which made him no faster than a snail…

“Double Retaliation!”

Unending Unmatched wanted to attack Li Yi once more but a chill started to envelop his entire body and in a moment he had turned into an ice sculpture.

The Freezing Trap was activated!

This was no coincidence, Li Yi had predicted that Unending Unmatched would chase after him and would be too caught up with attacking Li Yi that’d he’d fall prey to the Freezing Trap in due time.

Unending Unmatched’s constant suffering of damage was shown on his head. Li Yi moved towards his back as he charged up his Powered-Up Arrow. He waited until the Freezing Trap was about to end before releasing the bow’s string.

Li Yi released one arrow after the other before Unending Unmatched turned around and blocked the arrows with the sword in his hand.

Li Yi kept shooting as he pulled back. Li Yi was extremely cunning when it came to where he was shooting. Li Yi’s attacks were unpredictable as he would switch out his target as he went along; head, leg, arm, leg, head. This confused Unending Unmatched making it difficult for him to land a Block in continuous succession.

He could not allow Unending Unmatched to block in succession otherwise the Blood Lord’s special effect would be activated, allowing him to recover back the HP that he had lost earlier.

Unending Unmatched had a maximum HP of 4800 whereas Li Yi only had around 2300. He could not compete against him in DEF as well. Ultimately, Li Yi would not be able to last a few hits whereas Unending Unmatched could tank many hits from him.

As Unending Unmatched had finished using Fire Impact, Charge and Hero’s Leap, he had no choice but to chase after Li Yi by just running towards him.

Unending Unmatched would not be able to catch up to Li Yi if the latter were to run and not attack. However, Unending Unmatched would be able to close the distance if Li Yi were to run and attack at the same time. This was the current situation between the two.

It took Li Yi a long time before he turned around and shot an arrow at him. He was being chased by Unending Unmatched around the map. If it were not for his familiarity with the Arena s.p.a.cing, any newbie would have already been caught in a dead end by Unending Unmatched.

Li Yi had been mentally calculating Charge’s CD. To make things worse, he still had to worry about the two rings’ special skills that were still unused.

Li Yi activated the Wind s.h.i.+eld Protection as he started shooting arrows as fast as he could at the rooted Unending Unmatched.

Unending Unmatched’s skill was G.o.d-tier and it would be very unlikely for him to be defeated head-on. Li Yi would only have a chance of victory if he were to move quickly to the back and attack him from there.

The Punishment Windstorm would not place the target into a stunned state. Its only effect was to limit the target’s movement and reduce the target’s defense. This meant that Unending Unmatched could still retaliate!
