“The night’s beautiful, y’all beautiful. My friends, please open your eyes and take in this once in a lifetime race tonight!”

Scar Face held the loudspeaker and yelled in front of the three sports cars.

The crowd went wild, driving the atmosphere to the highest point.

“The racer driving the Lamborghini, b.u.t.terfly Blue!”

“The racer driving the Ferrari, East Tsim Sha Tsui Racer G.o.d!”

“And finally, our mystery racer driving the Bugatti Veyron, Flipping Snail!”

Scar Face may not have the looks but he surely knew how to work up a crowd. Just a few words of introduction had the crowd running hot with emotion.

As time has it, it was 10.55pm!

Prior to the race, Li Yi got down the car to exchange places with the woman in black.

He was no racer. With the skills he has, he was only good for fooling around but this was a compet.i.tion, it was way beyond him.

“Buddy, the race is about to begin. Please return to your seat,” Scar Face told Li Yi.

“She’s the one racing tonight.”

“Sorry bud, your name’s registered. You can’t just switch the driver.”

Li Yi was shocked.

WTH? No changing drivers?

“Hey hey, why can’t we switch drivers? I’m Flipping Snail,” The woman in black snorted in dissatisfaction.

Scar Face was unmoved,” Sorry, if you insist on driving, I’ll have to disqualify you from the race.”

Uh oh, a slip-up…

“Ha, don’t tell me this guy is a noob driver?”

“Judging by the looks of it, he probably is.”

The cars on both sides had ignited their engines, revving the engine to a purr. Li Yi was forced to start his engine.

The woman in black was a big-time celebrity, Xu Man’s twin sister, Xu Yue. Li Yi was going to find a professional racer to join the race. He had Xu Man to help with the networking but Xu Yue ended up driving the car over.

Xu Yue said so herself that she was great with cars, way better than she was in games. Whether or not it was true, actions spoke louder than words.

“This is the mountain road, the entire journey takes half an hour. The hardest stage is the last U-shape bend. It’s called the Hand of Death there. Rumor has it that 17 racers died on that spot.”

Moonlight Ocean pointed at the car’s GPS as she briefed Li Yi on the route.

Li Yi scratched his head, “Do you think I’ll win?”

Moonlight Ocean nodded, “You have a chance.”

“A slim chance?”

Moonlight Ocean nodded and added, “I mean, if they both ram into each other, you’ll be number one.”

“Go to h.e.l.l!”

At 11 o’clock sharp, Scar Face fired the gun in his hand. The Lamborghini and Ferrari F430 took out like an arrow released from its bow…

The king of race cars, Bugatti Veyron sprinted forward before stalling. It started again before accelerating but stalling once again. The Lamborghini and Ferrari F430 were long gone as the Bugatti Veyron slowly made its way.

No hustle no bustle. Sure and steady. How carefree and leisurely.

“F*ck, is this a race car?”

“This is not a race car, this… this is… going for a drive!”

“F*ck me, he’s not a hustler, he’s… that s.h.i.+t!”

Spectators were booking bets furiously on stage.

Moonlight Ocean smacked her forehead, “My G.o.d, if we were in some professional race, we’re dead meat. Please, even if you’re that bad, you can’t just land the car crosswise on the tracks. If there was an incoming car, how are we supposed to avoid it?”

“It’s not the racer that’s good, it’s the acceleration of a Bugatti Veyron that’s awesome!”

The spectators on the stand were voicing their opinions.

Li Yi stepped on the gas, right to the bottom. It was just a straight road up ahead, no turns.

“Time to slow down, it’s a T-shaped bend ahead!” Moonlight Ocean reminded him.

Li Yi decelerated in advance, carefully making the bend.

“Oh you’re just so slow, just let… me do it!”

Watching Li Yi messing up really brought out Moonlight Ocean’s nerves.

They could not even catch b.u.t.terfly Blue and East Tsim Sha Tsui Racer G.o.d’s tails. The way this was going, they were going to lose.

“You? How are you gonna do it? Stop the car? Oh please, they’re watching us. Don’t rush it. I am confident they’ll crash into each other.”

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sports accelerated in the shortest time. Its t.i.tle as king of race cars definitely lived up to its name. Moonlight Ocean’s driving was mesmerizing to Li Yi. No matter the track section, she never decelerated, drifting to the left then to the right, maintaining a high velocity as they went.

“What’s a race, you say? Now, this is a race!”

Moonlight Ocean cried out in excitement, stepping on the accelerator to its maximum, picking up some mad speed…

The Bugatti Veyron was moving fast then slow, putting on a show for the audience on the stand.

“Is this is a noob or expert?”

“Oh please, can he do it or not? If he can’t he should just quit. Nothing to see there.”

There were moans and groans overtaking the stands.

The Bugatti Veyron was picking up speed again. One has to admit, Moonlight Ocean has quite the skills. She never decelerated. Although Li Yi has wasted the first couple minutes, her drifting in full speed over curves and bends had her successfully catching up to the tails of b.u.t.terfly’s Lamborghini and East Tsim Sha Tsui Racer G.o.d’s Ferrari F430 after fifteen minutes.

The two vehicles ahead were biting hard at each other, with East Tsim Sha Tsui Racer G.o.d in the lead and b.u.t.terfly sticking close on the back. Both of them were drifting and spun with the same movement at exactly the same time. They were traveling at the same speed. The distance between was no more than a car’s length!

“Both of them are experts, hahaha, now this is fun!”
