Li Yi led Jiaojiao to chase after Caitley.

They had reached the center of the depths of Wailing Grotto. The surrounding pa.s.sageways were swirling, constantly changing the routes. If they did not keep up with Caitley, then they would never be able to find their way out again even after years of going through the pa.s.sages.

After chasing it for up to an hour, Caitley finally stopped.

A red doorway loomed before it and had the words ‘Flaming Dragon Lair’ written boldly on it.

Caitley hurled a shot of Flaming Blast to smash open the door, but this heavy doorway did not open as the previous magical gate did. It remained unscathed as it engulfed all of Caitley’s magic.

“d.a.m.n! d.a.m.n!” Caitley screamed in anger.

It continued to make futile attempts to blast the door open with its magic despite knowing very well that it could never open the door.

Jiaojiao pointed her greatsword at Caitley. “Do we kill it?”

Li Yi shook his head. They have already been briefed through the earlier special dungeon experience. This Flaming Skeleton Caitley was not merely just Wicked Flaming Dragon’s underling.

With the Fire Wizard dead, Caitley whose soul was attached to the bracelet took over the control of its skeleton.

Caitley suddenly turned around to look at the duo. “I wasn’t trying to protect Wicked Flaming Dragon all the while I’ve been guarding this place. It was the exact opposite: I’ve been thinking about killing it!”

The viciousness in Caitley’s eyes softened when they both chose to believe in her words. However, it did not do anything to respond to their answer. She remained standing there quietly like a wooden pillar.

Li Yi thought about it before adding, “Our teacher is Augustus. He sent us here in search of a bracelet.”

“Augustus!”

Caitley’s eyes suddenly burst into flames. It studied Li Yi with surprise and nodded.

“So I was not forgotten…”

Li Yi glared at her. “We’re here on a quest. You can kill it next time.”

Caitley continued, “Since you’re students of Augustus’, I won’t hide the truth from you. Behind this door is the Wicked Flaming Dragon’s lair.

“A thousand years ago, Augustus, Emperor Lan and I had wounded Wicked Flaming Dragon heavily. Later on, this beast had used the power of Fire Dragon Sword to revamp Wailing Grotto and constructed three magical gates to prevent anyone from getting close.”

Caitley was babbling non-stop. She recounted the whole story from the beginning until the end.

The battle a thousand years ago has actually left Wicked Flaming Dragon wounded, and the wound has not yet recovered. That was why it dared not make an appearance all these years. It has been hiding in its lair to recuperate.

Although Caitley did not have a physical body anymore, its awareness still remained. It had been wanting to kill Wicked Flaming Dragon ever since it took over the body of Flaming Skeleton. Two angry howls were heard coming from inside of Flaming Dragon Lair. Wicked Flaming Dragon was enraged that its magical gate had been broken through.

“Wicked Flaming Dragon is powerful. Disciples of Augustus, if you truly want to kill it, help me seek materials to build a magic formation. I’ll seal part of its powers and only then, you’ll have a chance to succeed…”

Caitley distributed another quest to seek materials in building a magic formation.

However, this was an easier quest because Li Yi actually had every single thing Caitley needed!

Farming monsters was a steady way to level up, and completing a quest would gain one explosive progress on levelling up. This was the main difference between leveling up through completing quests and farming monsters.

Caitley nodded at Li Yi and Jiaojiao with grat.i.tude. It began to build a magic formation.

Its recovery of HP was a fast one. It only needed to sit for a while before its HP filled up all the way.

Jiaojiao asked in a straightforward manner, “What recovery potion did you use? That was fast.”

Caitley drew on the ground with its staff as it responded, “It’s called Transcendence Regen Skill. I’ve spent a thousand years crafting it. Do you want to learn? I can teach you.”

“Yes!” Jiaojiao’s eyes lit up.

“Me too!” Li Yi was quick to join in.

Caitley nodded. It began its teaching while carving a formation.
