Chapter 1339: A h.e.l.l-like Opponent

The fact that the Black Dragon Guild could rule over Immortal Island for so many years meant that they were not weaklings themselves. It wasn’t hard to tell from Chiat’s squad that all of them worked incredibly well together.

Excluding Fourteen Heavenly Maple, who was killed by w.a.n.g Yu, there was a total of ten players on Chiat’s side.

There were Warriors, Priest, Magicians and Archers and with each differing job, they seemed to have covered every aspect of a team battle.

Even though these people all had conventional jobs, the control and movements among the squad were well worked out. Even though they might not have any unique traits, they did not have any weakness too. This was especially effective for PK with others.

After all, players were not BOSS and they only had this much HP. Focusing too much on causing damage to the opponent would result in overflow of damages and that could be considered a wastage. The j.a.panese loved conserving so coordinating like that matched the nature of their personality.

Chiat and the others were never far from w.a.n.g Yu. With [Charge], this fella arrived right in front of w.a.n.g Yu in a blink of an eye. While raising his s.h.i.+eld, he launched the opening attack on w.a.n.g Yu with [s.h.i.+eld Bash].

After playing the game for such a long time, players knew each and every one of their skills well. Because of the slow increase in a player’s speed attributes, every player would have come up with possible combinations of skills to maximise the damage and speed.

[Charge] and [s.h.i.+eld Bash] was one example of such combinations.

[Charge] and [s.h.i.+eld Bash] were both high judgement skills of a Guardian. In a situation where ten of them were fighting one person, a skill like [Charge] might be a little awkward because it was easy for the opponent to dodge. On the other hand, even though [s.h.i.+eld Bash] could knock someone giddy, the range of attack was too short and the execution of the skill would take too much time. In this manner, it became easy for the opponent to dodge it too.

Executing [s.h.i.+eld Bash] just when [Charge] was about to end made it a very practical combination to knock someone from far away.

Of course, one had to see who the opponent was.

Chiat was relatively more unfortunate because, with the growing influence of Black Dragon Guild, a player of his status wouldn’t see the need to PK other players during normal days. Most of these small tricks were used in PVE and when he finally found an opponent in real life, he was a h.e.l.l-level player…

“Tsk!”

In the face of the oncoming Chiat, w.a.n.g Yu remained seated. When Chiat was about to hit him, w.a.n.g Yu grunted coldly as he extended his right leg forward and towards Chiat’s feet.

As everyone knew, one’s leg was longer than the arm and it helped for the fact that the j.a.panese were generally smaller in size. A 1.86-metre-tall w.a.n.g Yu was essentially a giant in front of Chiat. By extending his leg, Chiat’s s.h.i.+eld was still about half a metre away from him.

“Boom!”

w.a.n.g Yu was firm as his leg struck Chiat’s calves.

“Aiya…”

The high-speed Chiat lost his balance after being kicked in his calves as he fell in front of w.a.n.g Yu.

With both hands pressing against the ground, w.a.n.g Yu stood up and executed [Thunder G.o.d’s Stomp] on the back of Chiat’s head.

-57743

A ma.s.sive damage floated above his head.

As a Guardian, Chiat had over a hundred thousand HP and w.a.n.g Yu’s attack merely took away half of his health. However, because w.a.n.g Yu attacked the back of his head, Chiat was struck into a state of stun.

While being stunned, a player could neither move nor speak but he was still aware of the surroundings. Chiat frantically opened his squad chat and said, “Save me!”

Just when w.a.n.g Yu was about to finish Chiat off, the Warrior following closely behind Chiat arrived next to w.a.n.g Yu. With a swing of his blade, he executed [Tornado Slash] towards w.a.n.g Yu while the attacks of the Archers and Magicians further away flew towards w.a.n.g Yu.

w.a.n.g Yu took one step back unhurriedly as he extended both arms to drag two figures out from the air. With a swing of both arms, two a.s.sa.s.sins were tossed out by w.a.n.g Yu.

One of them died in mid-air after suffering the force of all the incoming arrows and magic attacks while the other crashed into the Warrior and was killed by his [Tornado Slash]. The Warrior also fell to the ground by the impact of the flying a.s.sa.s.sin.

When the two Priests saw what happened, they quickly waved their staffs towards Chiat and the other Warrior to heal them. w.a.n.g Yu took one step forward as he flashed to arrive behind the two Priests. Simultaneously, he extended both arms and grabbed both their heads before pressing them onto the ground ferociously.

“Putong putong!”

The heads of these two Priests were pressed forcibly into the sand.

At this moment, the two Archers and Magicians regained their composure as they quickly turned their weapons to aim at w.a.n.g Yu again. Arrows and magic attacks flew towards w.a.n.g Yu once more.

w.a.n.g Yu did not dodge as he simply grabbed the two arrows in the air to throw it forward.

The majority of magic attacks of a Magician was non-directional. The moment they hit a physical object, it would be activated.

Presently, the two Icicles struck the two arrows.

“Pshew~”

The Icicle turned into two blue fog as the fear in the hearts of the Magicians and Archers, who were attacking w.a.n.g Yu, grew exponentially.

How did he catch the arrows from a close distance and how did he offset the magic attacks so casually?

“What?! He isn’t human!”

“We admit defeat…”

In the face of such a frightening opponent, the four of them gave up on resisting as they immediately put down their weapons to indicate their surrender. A wise man submits to his circ.u.mstance and everyone recognised how hard it was to progress after Level 50. 10% of their experience was still valuable enough for them to not throw it out of the window carelessly.

However, w.a.n.g Yu couldn’t understand what they were saying. Looking at their actions, w.a.n.g Yu even thought that they were provoking him so he immediately sent two kicks towards the two Priests.

“Bang, bang!”

The two Priests were instantly killed as w.a.n.g Yu made use of the momentum to charge towards the four men. With four swings of his fist, he managed to hit everyone on their throat.

A person’s throat was one of their vital parts.

Magicians and Archers never had high HP so they were naturally never going to survive w.a.n.g Yu’s fatal strike.

“Boom, boom, boom, boom!”

Four more white lights flashed as all the long-range players were slaughtered by w.a.n.g Yu.

Yes, it was a one-man show.

The entire process from when w.a.n.g Yu threw the two a.s.sa.s.sins out to when he killed the six long-range players only took three to four seconds. Chiat’s stun effect had just ended and when he stood back up, the only teammate he had left was a Warrior.

Chiat looked lost and dazed as he asked the Warrior beside him, “Where is everyone else? Did they all run away?”

The Warrior took one step back fearfully as he pointed at w.a.n.g Yu, who was walking over, “They… they were all killed by that man!”

Chiat was in complete disbelief as he replied, “Killed by him? How… there were eight…”

Before Chiat could complete his sentence, a long pole flashed across Chiat’s body.

“Duang!”

All he heard was a violent bang and Chiat turned around frantically to see his last teammate turning into white light too.
