“It’s time to get up.”

The tap on the door came again a little while later. “Wake up. It’s time for school.”

Opening up her suitcase, she put on the first things she grabbed and after quickly was.h.i.+ng up, she opened her door. He Jiayu greeted her with a smile. “There you are. I was going to knock again.”

“Hoho… sorry about that. It’s always been difficult for me to get up.” Su Xiaomo chuckled awkwardly. “Come, let’s go to school!”

“There’s no need to rush. It’s still early and we have enough time for some breakfast.” He Jiayu said nervously, “I made it myself and I hope you like it…”

Going up to the dining table, Su Xiaomo was utterly flattered when she saw the sumptuous feast laid out. “You – you made all that for me?”

“Yes.” He Jiayu nodded. “Try it. I’ll make something else if it’s not to your liking.”

Su Xiaomo took a bite and her eyes sparkled with tears.

“What’s wrong? Do you not like it?” He Jiayu was all jittery.

“No.” Su Xiaomo shook her head. “It’s so delicious!”

Su Xiaomo had never been so touched.

Apart from sending her money, her parents hadn’t even spent a Chinese New Year with her for years, let alone make her breakfast.

She was hopeless in cooking and didn’t even know how to switch on an induction cooker. She hadn’t had a proper breakfast in a very long time.

Some guy was actually willing to make her such a wonderful breakfast! Aww!

He Jiayu said in resignation, “Let’s have breakfast first…”
