He cursed under his breath, picked her up in both arms, and carried her to his own room.

He kicked the bathroom door open and shoved Mu Li in.

Qi Yanxi was greatly irritated by her crying. “Stop crying! Take a shower and wait here! I’m gonna handle that piece of s.h.i.+t for you!”

Mu Li calmed down at his arrogant voice.

She turned on the shower and rubbed her skin vigorously. She could faintly make out Qi Yanxi’s voice outside. He was calling for someone to deal with that driver.

Halfway through her shower, the door opened a crack, which made her jump.

Qi Yanxi wasn’t going to take advantage of her plight. Instead, he threw in some of his own clothes.

She picked up the clothes, put them on, and gingerly walked out of the bathroom.

Qi Yanxi was standing at the window, looking down with a frown.

“Xiaxia is here… She was going to come here, but I’ve put her off, saying you don’t feel so well,” Qi Yanxi explained, then asked impatiently, “How did you get yourself into this?”

Mu Li’s toes curled and she fought back her tears.

The teenager gave her a broad smile and twirled around, still holding her. Mu Li could almost hear their laughter from where she was standing.

However, now… They were only a window apart. An Xiaxia was smiling, but she was crying.

Seeing how pitiful she looked, Qi Yanxi also realized he had been too harsh. He cleared his throat and said, “You can sleep here tonight. Anyone messes with you again, call me right away. I’ll be there for you!”

After all, Mu Li had stayed at his place since she was little. To Qi Yanxi, she had never been a servant, but a friend.

Mu Li was now the only one in this room decorated with black and white straight lines.
