“He’s not… You’re making things up,” An Xiaxia mumbled. “Get off me! You’re too heavy!”

He was crus.h.i.+ng her!

“Don’t talk to other men!” Sheng Yize bit her neck.

An Xiaxia felt like crying, but no tears would come. “Fine, fine. You’re so handsome that anything you say must be right! I’ll keep my distance from all men in the future. Happy?”

That made Sheng Yize chuckle a little. He raised an eyebrow and asked, “Do you find me unreasonable?”

Heh… So, Mr. Idol, you know that yourself…

Despite what she thought, An Xiaxia replied in a solemn tone, “Of course not.”

“Little liar…” He gave her nose a little pinch. “I know you’re not telling the truth.”

Unfortunately, however clever he thought he was, he wouldn’t hesitate to fall for all her lies and couldn’t get enough of them.

The two cuddled for a while in bed, then An Xiaxia cried out, “I’m a married woman now. I can’t be Momo’s bridesmaid anymore.”

She moved around, accidentally touching a certain body part she shouldn’t have, which made Sheng Yize draw in his breath. He pinned the little woman down and kissed her for a very long moment before letting go of her.

Speaking of which, that final step hadn’t happened yet, despite the fact that they had gotten married.

He had this feeling that deep down, An Xiaxia hadn’t completely accepted it yet.

Sheng Yize couldn’t bring himself to do it.

An Xiaxia seemed to sense his scruples as well and was emboldened by his reserve. She snickered when she saw the stoic look on his face before hiding back under her duvet.

Sheng Yize sat up in frustration and glared at her from the other side of the duvet.

“I’m warning you, I’ll eat you whole! There won’t be a hair left of you!”

An Xiaxia wouldn’t play along no matter how threatening he sounded, which deflated him right away. After taking a few deep breaths, his urge still wouldn’t go away.

He was long past the impetuous age, but where the woman he loved was concerned, his body reacted more honestly than his mind.

He had no choice but to get out of bed and go take a cold shower.

An Xiaxia was still pondering the wedding when Sheng Yize’s phone rang. Sticking her head out of the duvet, she could still hear water running in the bathroom. It would probably be a while before he came out.

She picked it up for Sheng Yize.

A woman’s cloying voice came from the other end. “Mr. Sheng, there are some problems with the marketing department’s financial statements. Please take a look.”

“Um, he’s not available at the moment. I’ll tell him to call you back.”

There was a moment of silence before the woman said in a shrill voice, “Who are you? Why do you have Mr. Sheng’s phone?”

“I’m his… wife.” An Xiaxia felt a little shy to address herself like that and sounded quite diffident.

Naturally, the woman wouldn’t buy it. “You s.l.u.t! Like I’m going to believe you?”

“I’m more likely to be his wife than you are.” The woman sounded very arrogant. “Stop dreaming already. Give Mr. Sheng his phone back.”

“He’s in the shower at the moment.”
