“They never found the body. I don’t think… there’s any hope.” His father sighed. “I watched her grow up. What a nice girl…”

Qi Yanxi smiled bitterly. He felt something pressing down hard on his chest and he fell back onto his bed.

All was peaceful and quiet on the island.

An Xiaxia kept Su Xiaomo company during her confinement after childbirth. She spent her days playing with little Cuddlie, and felt that life was wonderful and that she wanted for nothing.

The day Su Xiaomo finished her confinement, Song s.h.i.+ came to hang out with them. He had brought a girl along.

To An Xiaxia’s astonishment, he had come with Li Canxing!

Song s.h.i.+’s amorous eyes twinkled as he said playfully, “My dear little sister, I’m no monster or beast, why do you look so surprised?”

“Alright.” Li Canxing lowered her head shyly with flushed cheeks. She was in love.

An Xiaxia didn’t know what to think of Song s.h.i.+. For as long as she could remember, Li Canxing had been this cold and mean girl since high school. She didn’t know Li Canxing was capable of such a shy expression.

Song s.h.i.+ never knew where to set the boundary and had rented the flat right next to Sheng Yize and An Xiaxia’s. Early the next morning, An Xiaxia heard the loud quarrel next door, and she went to the balcony without even putting her shoes on to watch the fun.

Li Fanxing had grabbed Li Canxing by her hair. “You b.i.t.c.h! How dare you steal my man? Do you have a death wish?!”

“Let go of me…” Li Canxing wouldn’t give in and the sisters screamed and cursed. As for Song s.h.i.+, he was smiling on the side like an old fox. Instead of trying to break them apart, he looked like he was getting ready to sit down and enjoy the view.

Sheng Yize was woken up by the noise as well. He went up to An Xiaxia and held her waist from behind. Darting a look at the farce next door, he remarked, “It’s so ridiculous.”

It really was.

An Xiaxia yawned and complained, “They’re so loud…”

Sheng Yize darted her a look, then said in a deep voice, “Song s.h.i.+, you have three minutes to settle this, or I’ll have your head on a plate!”
