When Qi Yanxi caught up to them, Li Fanxing had just helped her father into the car.

Panting, she tipped the waiter and was about to start the car.

Qi Yanxi frowned. It seemed that the Li family was really going through a difficult time. They didn’t even have a driver now.

Li Fanxing’s leg seemed to be injured and she limped to the driver’s side.

Her father opened the car door at that moment and fell out onto his face with a thump.

That made Qi Yanxi jump. He was going to give them a hand when Li Fanxing burst into tears and wailed in a shrill voice, “What do you want?!”

Her father said in a drunken voice, “Where… where is my drink? I need a drink…”

“There’s no drink! No nothing! You torched that check as joss paper for that b.i.t.c.h Li Canxing! We have nothing left now!” Li Fanxing roared. “Li Jiang, do you want me dead? Is that it?”

Li Jiang muttered to himself, “Canxing… My dearest daughter, where are you…”

Enraged, Li Fanxing went up to him and shook him by his shoulders. “You don’t have a daughter anymore! You don’t! I’m your dearest person now! Me!”

Some distance away, Qi Yanxi looked astonished.

The relations.h.i.+p between Li Fanxing and her father… looked rather strange.

He had never seen Li Fanxing lose control like this in public.

The shaking made her father dizzy. He turned to the other side and vomited.

The stench filled the air, but Li Fanxing acted as if she couldn’t smell it at all. She hastily helped her father to his feet and apologized gingerly. “Dad, I’m sorry… It was all my fault. I’m taking you home now. Let’s go home…”

“Stay away from me! I don’t want to see you!” Her father slapped her in the face and Li Fanxing fell to the ground.

Father Li was going to hit her again when a pair of big hands stopped him.

“Uncle Li, please calm down,” said Qi Yanxi coldly. He then picked Li Jiang up and threw him into the car.

Sitting on the ground, Li Fanxing stared at Qi Yanxi, looking dazed.

He was tall and wide-shouldered, and reminded her of the morning sun.

Li Fanxing’s lips moved and she wanted to call his name. Qi Yanxi glanced at her, but instead of picking her up, he only frowned. “What did you do to yourself?”

“This is nothing… I’m fine!” Li Fanxing tried to explain it away in a fl.u.s.ter, her voice shrill. “I’m really fine!”

Qi Yanxi pursed his lips. “Whatever you say.”

He turned to leave, but Li Fanxing jumped him from behind, as if she had lost her mind.

Qi Yanxi could have easily dodged, but considering that she was with child, he hesitated and didn’t fight back. Li Fanxing then pinned him to the ground.

“Give me money… I need your money!” Li Fanxing wrapped her fingers around Qi Yanxi’s neck.

Qi Yanxi was irritated. “Are you nuts? Haven’t I given you enough already?”

“My dad burned the check…” Li Fanxing said matter-of-factly, “So, you have to write me another one!”

Qi Yanxi only found her ridiculous. “What makes you think I’ll help you over and over again?”

“Give me money, or I’ll kill you!” Li Fanxing yelled frantically. By now, Qi Yanxi had run out of patience. He threw her off without any difficulty.

“Miss Li, please find someone else to play your crazy act on. I’ve had enough of you!”

He turned to leave. A whoos.h.i.+ng sound then came from behind and Qi Yanxi swayed a little. He touched the back of his head and his hand came back covered in blood.
