“It’s just a rumor… Don’t tell me you believe that?” Without knowing it, Li Fanxing’s voice had started to tremble.

“Of course I’m not going to believe that, but I do believe in one thing.” Sheng Yize’s sharp gaze landed on Li Fanxing’s belly. “There’s no way that Song s.h.i.+ is the father of that baby!”

“Who else if not him? Mr. Sheng, did you invite me here to slander me?!” Li Fanxing wouldn’t give in.

She couldn’t! She would be doomed if she admitted to that!

Sheng Yize smiled a little. “I don’t believe anything you say, but I do believe Song s.h.i.+. I had dinner with him once on the island and after he got drunk, he slipped and told me that the two of you never slept together.”

Li Fanxing’s face turned ghastly pale right away.

“Song s.h.i.+ had a weakness: he told the truth when he was drunk! So if he said he never slept with you, I believe him. Now, here’s the million-dollar question: when a couple never had s.e.x, but the woman is pregnant, what does that tell us about the relations.h.i.+p?”

“You’re making all this up!”

As Li Fanxing turned hysterical, Sheng Yize only became calmer. “The father of your child is Li Jiang, isn’t it?”

Li Fanxing, who had turned frantic, froze at those words.

Sheng Yize chuckled. “So, your lover is your own father?”

“Shut up, Sheng Yize! Shut up!” Li Fanxing grabbed a knife on the table, but Sheng Yize remained seated. A bodyguard handled Li Fanxing for him, shooting her in the arm. Li Fanxing screamed and fell back in the chair.

The wound from last night was still throbbing. Kang Jian had made sure that the shot would only make her bleed and not kill her, and she could make a full recovery after the surgery.

Sheng Yize’s long fingers reached out, touching her face. Then, he ripped off her mask.

A jagged cut ran across her cheek.

Li Fanxing’s face had been destroyed.

“I don’t know who did that to you, but I really want to thank that person.” Sheng Yize smiled coldly. Whenever he thought of that video where Li Fanxing had made all those cuts on An Xiaxia, he wished he could do the same thing to her ten times over!

Li Fanxing was in so much pain that she couldn’t even speak. Panting, she reached into her bag and found some painkillers. However, Sheng Yize swept the bottle to the ground before she could put any in her mouth.

The bottle rolled away and she was too weak to go after it. She could only huddle in her chair and weep.

Sheng Yize felt no sympathy for her at all. If she didn’t like how things had turned out for herself, she should never have done those things in the first place!

She might look all pitiful now, but she had no one to blame but herself!

“I’m going to ask you again: where did you take An Xiaxia? Or, has someone else taken her?” Sheng Yize asked coldly.

Knowing that telling Sheng Yize what happened wouldn’t change the way he treated her, Li Fanxing turned defiant and smiled maliciously. “I don’t know. I saw nothing. Sheng Yize, dead or alive, you’ll never see her again. I don’t care if you kill me now. You’ll be the one living a miserable life from now on!”

Sheng Yize’s face turned grim and he swept everything off the table. The room was filled with the sharp sounds of dishes and bowls smas.h.i.+ng to pieces on the floor. Li Fanxing’s smile widened. “Kill me! Just do it!”

Death would free her. She would rather enrage Sheng Yize and let him kill her immediately than live in torment.

Sheng Yize knew perfectly well what she was planning. He gave her a crooked smile and said, “You want death? You can’t have it!”

He pointed to a corner of the restaurant, where a red light was blinking on a camera. “I sent a copy of the video to Li Jiang. Do you want to hear what he has to say about it?”
