“Secretary Yu? I saw him only once during the opening ceremony. I don’t really remember his face,” said Wen Shan. She then leaned back against her chair and tried to recall what had happened during her cla.s.s, “though there were a few officers who stood by the door during the second hour of my cla.s.s. Could it be Secretary Yu?”

“Look at this, there’s a new instant attendance record. The Physics Department will be the first to carry out this pilot system, which means that a designated officer will drop by every cla.s.s from now on to record the name of the person teaching the cla.s.s.” Ding Junhui opened the university’s website on the computer and showed it to Wen Shan.

“Don’t do that. Both of you might get punished.”

“But what can I do when the professor instructs me to do so?”

“Who do you think the university would choose between the two of you if they really had to?”

“Forget it then.” Wen Shan thought about it again and decided not to risk recording the professor’s name.

Nalan Chunbo who was expecting to use the false attendance to warn Professor Yin was surprised to see Wen Shan recording her own name.

The bicycle pa.s.sed by quickly, followed by a sports car.

“Why is he driving so fast on campus? Wen Shan demanded while taking a step back.

“Let’s go,” said Ding Junhui after the road was clear.

Nalan Chunbo drove very quickly and stopped after he was far enough to check out the two of them who were walking together from the rear mirror.
