Wen Jie’s breathing hitched and she looked at her precious little Xicheng. He looked so concerned that she had to pull herself together. “I’m fine,” Wen Jie rea.s.sured him, reaching out to caress Ye Xicheng’s cheek.

As if Ye Xicheng was not convinced, he stood on his toes and touched his grandmother’s forehead. He seemed to relax after confirming that she did not have a fever. “If Grandma isn’t feeling well, you have to tell me! Daddy and Mommy aren’t at home but Xicheng can take care of Grandma,” Ye Xicheng said firmly, as though he was already an adult.

Wen Jie pulled him into an embrace. “I’m fine.”
